I'm sure Rodders would approve, Delboy!!!
I haven't heard Snowblower in ages - that was from the days when, to me and my mates, jazz funk was the coolest thing out.
Portugese Love was (for me) the best thing Teena Marie ever did. When I got a CD player, that was one of the first Cd's I bought. A great fave of Robbie Vincent, I recall.
We used to have a good laugh over Wikka Rap.
And as for Light of The World. Did you see them at The Best Disco In Town? Loved all of their stuff ... "I'M IN LOVE WITH WHAT I SEE - THE STREETS OF LONDON ALWAYS APPEAL TO ME". Yeah - love it, love it. I always remember Jeff Young playing that one at some night I went to ...
Yep - I bought the remix of "Be Thankful" when it came out. Have just picked up the 1974 original. What a great tune - perfect for the summer!
And finally, I haven't heard Dreamin' for ages. What label was that on and what year? I remember it was a good dancer with a crisp punchy beat.
Is this what you played at home? Or are you still Djing?
Sounds like you were into the same scene as me. Where did you use to hang out?
