I have it on the re-pressed Salsoul classics (or whatever it's called) 12"... is that the short version? I think it's only 9 minutes...
Was this ever released as a 12" Single?
If so, was it longer than on the "Dancing & Prancing" LP on Salsoul?
I recently won CANDIDO's ANTHOLOGY CD on ebay, and Just LOVING the 12:30 version. However, the cd doesn't say this is an 'original' 12" release... off the topic, but i hate what they did to "jingo" on this cd..
Thanks!

Womb Prayer!
There are 'BITD' Canadian and Dutch 12s of it (the Dutch issue came out in 1984 and I think the Canadian is from around '80/'81). However, they're both the same as the LP version.
What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
Hi, maybe you're searching for this one (very haaard to find!!!!)
Thousand finger man / Jingo (Salsoul 12" [Canada] SG 219, 1979)
I have the recent re-pressing and the version was 8.55....![]()
best regards
I fully agree! The Shep Pettibone remix is awful  The mysterious vibe of the original recording is completely destroyed here! It was a style of remixing that was in vogue in the eighties but I sure don't like it. The same thing with "The Break" from Kat Mandu, such a powerful track in its original version and so weak on the eighties remix where even the famous "whistle-break" is left out. Such a shame :oops:Originally Written by discofrank
VideoSkooter: You must think that I'm argueing against what you've written just for the sake of it, but I'm not.
The Pettbone remix of Jingo was like manna from heaven and ultimately it was this mix that really made the track into an all-time anthem, NOT the original, which in the UK at least was, I believe, the 'B' side of Dancin' and Prancin'.
I can't say I particularly enjoy the course drum machine sounds on it nowadays, but BITD it made the whole track so much harder and so much more danceable. It rocked!!
Quinny, did you once say you DJ'd in Majorca in the 80s? It's just that I remember dancing to the Pettibone remix of Jingo at a straight club in majorca in 1986. Surely it wasn't you DJing? To this day whenever I hear Jingo I think of this naff club in Majorca surrounded by pissed teenagers & having to step over bodies everywhere! :(
Actually, The Shep Pettibone mix isn't too bad. I was refering to the "Tom Moulton 12" remix" which clocks in at 10:49. They overdubbed a cheesy hand clapping sounds to the original. And then some more overdubs. Why couldn't they just included the original track.. but anyway, that's a different topic. :x
THOUSAND FINGER MAN clocks in at 12:30
the version on the Dancing' and Prancing' LP clocks in to around 9min. :-?
I REALLY like the 12:30 version, which sounds very much like the Dancing & Prancing version, with an extended interlude and the break is extended as well. I never heard this version, and it blew me away! I'm wondering if THOUSAND FINGER MAN was ever released as a separate SALSOUL single (or other label) in the version that clocks in at 12:30.
Just when you thought it was all over - no, no, no
