These are the ones I remember mixing successfully...

Vanity 6's "Nasty Girl" mixing into Grace Jones' "My Jamaican Guy"
Police's "Every Breath You Take" into Madonna's "Holiday"
Alicia Bridges' "I Love the nightlife" into Rae's "A Little Lovin"
Macho's "Roll" into Passengers' "Hot Leather"

I remember that Love Pains the one on MobyDick mixed well with Come On And Do it. I'd let the moaning lay over Yvonnes vocals for quite some time. Cum to think of it the moaning allowed a lot of options. Another fun one is Katmandu's The Break. Mixed well with Donna Summer McArther park. Try from second main break of the Break/and come in with Donna after her vocal intro when the pounding starts. You can hold this mix for 3 mins and it sounds great. Same when you mix Lucky with The Break.

Try to put together these 3:

    THE FLOATERS - FLOAT ON
    DELEGATION - OH HONEY
THE EAGLES - I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY

And you'll se that they sound perfect together.

a good dj can blend anything he wants to express his message, his passion by the music. he feels no boundaries between 2 kinds of beats, and must take care to the audience to create something unique, unforgettable.

I have to agree with both Discolady & Noman - every time I get on the turntables, even though I may tend to gravitate to my same favorite songs, what I pick definitely depends on mood, type of event, etc. and like Discolady I tend to put on a song, listen, flip through the CD book(s) and wait to see which title jumps out at me that I think would work for that moment, but like Noman mentioned you always have some failsafe songs ready in the back of your head, just in case you're down to the last minute on the song playing
But here are some of the mix combinations that I've done that sounded great to me when I did them:icon_biggrin:

Get Dancin' - Bombers into How Long - Lipps Inc.
Holly Dolly - Kano into Magnificent 7 - The Clash into Dirty Cash - Stevie V
Capricorn - Capricorn into Spring Affair - Donna Summer into Give me Love - Cerrone
