Mary J. Blige's remake of Let No Man Put Asunder - First Choice was one of the few remakes that should've been left alone.
What's the worst remake you have heard?
Which remakes do you enjoy?
I hate "This Time Baby" by Pandella, a remake of the Jackie Moore song.
I enjoy "When Will I See You Again" by Dreamgirls a remake of The Three Degrees.
Mary J. Blige's remake of Let No Man Put Asunder - First Choice was one of the few remakes that should've been left alone.
Keep the faith and everything will come your way as time marches on!
Well,
in general I dont like remakes, specially the house mixes from disco hits with that awfull fake drums and annoying samples.
But this track from "Mary J." I would like to hear. Yes, I would.

Hey,
Mary J Blige is great! And I like her remakes - she did a wonderful remake or cover (as you wish) of Natalie Cole's classic ballad OUR LOVE and it's a lovely recording.
Peace,

Worst remake:
Cake - I Will Survive
This one sucked, and for those who hate Gloria Gaynor's version, you'll hate this one even more. I've seen the clip a few years ago and it featured some bloke driving in a one man truck singing with a crappy voice. I don't mind Gloria Gaynor's version even though it was flogged to death in Australia but Cake's version NO WAY!!!
Another worst remake:
(unknown!!!) - Gangster Boogie
This is an awful rap/hiphop remake of Chicago Gangsters' 1975 version but the bastards add the rappers swear words like "************", "suck my dick", that sort of thing, the remake version is virtually all about pimps, prostitutes and oral sex, the sort of stuff that hiphoppers love rapping on about. THIS VERSION SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!!!! I've got the 1975 Chicago Gangsters' version and it's fantastic and a million times better than the rapped version.
Best remake:
I can't think of any but with best resampling I can think of a few.
Funky, I dont know "Gangster Boogie" rap version but, from now on I HATE IT.
And of course, I LOVE the Chicago Gangsters version. This version I know quite well.
Easy.

In all due, respect to Mary J Blige, I'm also a fan of her music. Most of her remakes are great, but First Choice - Let No Man Put Asunder cover didn't make a splash for her.On 2002-06-14 09:51, zeca azevedo wrote:

Hi Everyone, I myself advoid 'remakes'. I'd rather buy a NEW REMIX of a classic remixed but preformed by the original artist vs someone re-doing it today. This reminds me of those old lps '40 of today's hottest hits' preformed by 'We sound like the original artist only if you are deaf and drunk or both'. Thankfully 12" singles arrived and I found myself buying less and less LP's. All the best, DJ Phil
