    a little lyrics quiz:

    Voices inside my head,
echoes of things that you said.

    What group sings this?
    and who covered it?

    Yes,
it is THE POLICE's song VOICES INSIDE MY HEAD and you can find it on their 1980 album, "Zenyatta Mondatta".

Yes, You've got it right, its the Police!
The songs is from their 'Zeniatta Mondatta' album (1980) It think its a very good funky discofied song from one of their better albums.

But I recently found another good version made by a band called: COMMON SENSE
Has anyone ever heard of this band?
And which is the original version?

I also think that the house version Discojuice is reffering to is either:
"VOICES IN MY MIND" by VOICES (one of the early Masters at Work productions, a vocal garage house song.)
    Or it could be:
"PLAYNG WITH VOICES" (Masters at Work REMIX) by JOE T VANELLI, wich is a fantastic Afro-Latin remix of the original EuroHouse song. One of the best remixes M.A.W ever did. (nice screaming latin female vocals that slowly reach its climax)

But both don't contain the actual lyrics as used in the Police song.

The Police is the original. The Common Sense or 'cover' version was produced by the infamous Began Cekic on BC Records. It's a good one! I think Common Sense did much of the instrumentation for Began Cekic and BC labelmates.
