Who were the bassists in these bands? Some tasty bass licks in quite a few of these artist's songs. I'm guessing for the most part that the disco bass sound is a Fender Precision bass.
Indie Release [Level 4]
Interesting post.. Traditionally, the bass is plugged right into the mixer console, then played along with the other tracks in the mix. In classic disco (especially Euro-flavored Cerrone and the like) the bass is upfront and much more in-your-face then the other tracks. I believe reading somewhere Mo Foster played the Fender Jazz Bass with the tune and volume knobs set more towards the 'bass' position. 8)

Now this is odd :-?
I was briefly checking the credits on the Love & Kisses "How Much How Much I Love You" LP. As it turns out, no bass player is mentioned. Wonder if it's just my copy that misses this detail or if it's like that on all of them :lol: :roll:
