The Most Bizzare or Uncomfortable Thing You Ever Wore

OK. Must of us made some attempt to look right before going out to a club. We would meet at a friends house at least three hours before going out. Impossibly tight jeans. Some clubs would not let you in. The dress code was mysterious. Had to wear a sweatshirt before they would let me get into the Saint.

Standing out in below-freezing weather to get into club Area.

I never failed to see at least one woman dressed in something amazing. I know it must have hurt.

Bizarre, maybe not - but uncomfortable...

Does anyone remember when the silver (and gold) lamee (how do I get the diacritical mark over the 'e' on here?) jeans were in fashion? I bought a rather expensive pair on 8th street near St. Mark's place and wore them out all over right as they'd came out; and they faded as quickly as they came in; I wore them for a few months; then wore them when going out while visiting "in the country" (CT) and made quite a hit; (brought back about a half-dozen and made $40 a pair - big bucks in '78). Then they made their way everywhere and fizzled out within two years. Never, ever came back, either. Little wonder, eh?

I remember the lamee pants.
Never bought any though - they just weren't me.

Considering some of the fashions of the day I chose "conservative" styles...

I remember a designer had the idea that belts for men should be long enough to wrap around the waist twice and then once around the leg! I can't believe I wore (err. bought) that thing.

You could unbuckle it, beat yourself to death and scare everybody next to you while moving to I Feel Love. :o

    Only wore it once.

The heavy combattrousers I had to wear during manoeuvres when I was in the army.
Now it's worn by almost all the Rap-crews. I think I'll stick to my black leather trousers now. Luv' them!

I wore a leather harness & tight rubber hot pants one night to a club & felt a little uncomfortable; the shouts & whistles I received from passing motorists while walking through Manchester on the way to the club were quite amusing though! :o

Were the Lameé jeans by Gloria Vanderbilt?

I once wore leg-warmers, which have come back-God no!!!! These youngsters need educatin'.

This is an interesting topic. Can I branch off a bit and ask about designers? Fiorrucci, Calvin Klein, Halston etc. Who were the names to buy in the US? Over here, It was Lee, Lee Cooper, Levis, Brutus for jeans, and Gabbicci, Farahs etc. for the more classy  casual look. Please God, don't revive this stuff.

Vidal Sassoon jeans! Couldn't get them on unless you laid down on the bed and sucked the stomach in.

I suppose my bright, lime green platform shoes were the worst things ever, but I loved 'em.
