I am going through the vaults tonight and came upon a UK 1979 release of a 12" by Cher. Side 1 is "Wasn't It Good", not the most memorable track I have heard but for Cher, not bad. It was side 2 that intrigued me - the track "Take Me Home" by Aller and Esty, that was covered not too long ago by Sophie Ellis Baxter - I'm sure I have heard other artistes cover this track, but is the Cher track the original?

The Pounding Drums, The Flashing Lights...
Ya it was written for her by Bob esty and Eller. Utterly classic track--and one of Cher's bigger radio hits too. Cher's Casablanca output was a mixed bag--as often happened with Casablanca they did a fucking brilliant lead single, and then a lot of the rest is filler (though some of the ballads are surprisingly great)--though her second album (released the same year, 1979) Prisoner has even more filler.
