Well, I can't mention
Tainted Love - Soft Cell (not disco)
or ABBA (for goodness sake!!!!)
so it would have to be..........
Any old show tune that was discofied in '75 - late '76. They were all ghastly!!! YUK! YUK!! YUK!!!
Everyone has at least one song that they absolutely, positively, irrevocably HATE. The one that makes you cringe, make gagging motions and forces you to change the radio dial.
If there was one song you could forever erase from the history of disco music, what would it be?
Mine is DOUBLE DUTCH BUS by Frankie Smith. Oh my, how it makes my skin crawl...

'Disco Duck' and 'Push Push in the Bush'.
OOPs-I do like all these records  My condition of hate started after the discoperiod. Definitely Bronski Beat!
But to play the game: KELLY MARIE-She sucks (I mean in a musical kinda way) I can't stand her voice. It makes me maaaaaaad! And I do like Silver Convention but NOT the Penny McLean Solorubbish (sorry Marky)
Hello Guys. . . My vote is a tie: The Village People's Macho Man and In The Navy...BARF!
LOL Take Care, Guys! Mario
*I take it that Quinny is not too fond of The Wing and A Prayer Fife and Drum Band's rendition of: "Baby Face." LMAO!!!!!
You got it right. :D :D :D
I'll go with Disco Duck. I was given a copy to play in the 1970s, but refused to play it after hearing it one time. Why someone would give a disco deejay (me) a silly disco parody to play was beyond me at the time, and still is.
I absolutely would love to erase the Bob Seeger song that is anti-disco...."Just give me some old time rock-n-roll" or whatever the title is of that song. He sings in it "don't take me to a disco" or something like that.
Ten minutes of Seeger and I would be late for the door.
Dr. Disco is now a commercial property owner.
Easy one for me: "Is It All Over My Face" - Loose Joints. Still crap. Always was crap. Will always be crap. Female vocal horrendous. Male vocal gut wrenching.
There is not a drug in the world that could make this song sound good to me once these people start --- forgive me --- singing.
Ring My Bell, Boogie Oogie Oogie and Disco Duck..that would be great if they coulda been erased from time...they are pure **** and gave the word disco a bad name!
I'll begin with optimism. What's the big deal about "In The Bush?" I was very surprised to see that. "Ring My Bell," being a kissing cousin, was a piece of garbage.
It's just my opinion -- but what ruined my beloved movie (see other recent thread) "Saturday Night Fever" was the peculiar choice of the Bee-Gees to do a lot of the soundtrack. Beside "You Should Be Dancing," none of the other tunes merit disco notoriety. They sold like hotcakes -- but pardon the pun, they weren't my cup of tea.
I just can't believe that nobody came up with the post-disco hit that flooded the airwaves not only with bad music but also endless sarcasm from mystified radio dee-jays. It's now a 50th birthday or wedding staple: THE MACARENA.
[As Glinda the Good Witch] Macarena, be gone! Before somebody drops a house on you!
- Paul (a.k.a. judydoggie)
- Yours, musically
JudyDoggie (neither a girl nor a dog: if you were in disco in NYC 15-25 yrs ago u know)
Billy Paul's "Let's Make A Baby" (1976)
Beautiful song, horrible lyrics :)
The Bee Gees were under contract to Stigwood.
Amen! Glad to see someone else hates this song as much as me...I remember getting the 12 inch of this back in the day without hearing it, just because it was on West End. Man, was that a mistake!Originally Written by NickNack

Well...If you ask me i'd say: Let's just erase Bee Gees entire catalog  - and while we're at it...Village People too
Dancing Queen - Abba
Whenever I hear this song, I usually leave the room/building/town whatever.
Hooray! Someone else who wretches at Dancing Queen. Trouble is, it's impossible to get away from it.....everyone else loves it. AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
"Lady Marmalade" by LaBelle
last time this topic was brought up was at least 2 years ago.... glad to see it come back.
My controversial pick BORN TO BE ALIVE by PATRICK HERNANDEZ ....
just hearing his voice makes me cringe.... and also reminds me of cowboys rounding up their cattle... so pathetic.
"I'll Be Your Friend" Robert Owens
Ughhh!!!
  My choice # 2. (See my post on "top 100 gay disco".)Originally Written by Headlamp
It's funny, I can deal with this on the radio, but in a club, all versions made me gag.
Tommy Musto's remix of Celine Dion's "Unison".
It has every cliché of horrid early 90s dance music. Machine-gun drum programming, cheesy synths, shrieking diva, and... a rap.
Played every single night, without fail, at every gay club in Toronto for almost two years. And now a staple at retro night. There's no escape.
Yeah, it was always crap for me too, never played it and don't remember any other DJ playing this in my area either, when I first began to read about Disco on the Net I was surprised to see this cut mentioned as a 'classic', after digging out my copy for a fresh listen I still couldn't get into this energy-less boring song. You can add "over like a fat Rat" by Fonda Rae to the same list.Originally Written by NickNack
I don't know why, but my old time most hated song (which I mentioned before :D) was/is "What a fool believes" by the Doobies, I believe they even won a grammy for this.... :o
Zeca: I agree wth your overall sentiment, but there are certain records that should never have been released onto an unsuspecting public and would never be missed. Why should we HAVE TO ENDURE a load of crap, just to uphold some truly doubtful, unobtainable idyll to do with freedom. None of us are free, in any shape or form and probably never will be. We're all conditioned by society from the cradle to the grave. Surely the human condition itself is an absolute denial of freedom, because our intellect doesn't allow us a truly free existence?
