    Wardell Piper's 1979 LP

I didn't see this album in the record listings on the main site, I know most of you are probably familiar with the singles Super Sweet and Captain Boogie.. I recently acquired the tracks off this album (just the songs - alas, I don't have the LP itself ;) ) In any case, I love this album! Funky disco at it's best! 8) I heard a 12" version of Super Sweet, but I love the 11 minute album version - that crazy wailing she does is right up my alley :D

The LP version of Captain Boogie is so much better IMO, so much more exciting and rhythmic than the 12".. The other tracks are pretty good too - If You Want To Make Love To Me is kind of an oddity tho "if you want to make love to me, you're gonna have to marry me" (huh? what?! :o) definitely not what I've come to expect on a disco album, but it's a great listen too..

I also came across a recent house single with Wardell on vocals - called "Good Lovin'" credited to David Banks feat. Wardell Piper.. which I'm lovin' too!

Just wondering if anyone else here familiar with this album or with Ms. Piper?

I pulled this LP the other day after someone else mentioned it here, funky 'super sweet' sounds good but I don't remember this cut at all from BITD clubs ...

Have to agree that the 12" of Captain Boogie was a poor job. I rather like the denser (presumably the LP track) 'B' side to the UK 12". It has lots more of her wailing vocals and has a much better feel IMO.

SUPERSWEET was a moderate success in Italy back in those days!
