    chic's "dance dance dance"

:-? Has there ever been a re-edit of this song that take the versus out? I was curious as I am a big fan of the song, just not too keen on the vocals. I'd love to hear an instrumental with that bass riff alone.

You have got to be joking - dance dance dance without the vocals????????? Unthinkable and I don't think available. Most of the late 70's and early 80's 12" singles had an instrumental B side, but not the Chic 12" singles. You got value for money and no vinyl filler instrumentals.

Try some software and an MP3 version and do a little editing on it - guaranteed it won't sound correct or as awe inspiring as the original vocal version.

I feel so ashamed. I dunno, still wouldn't call the original awe inspiring. Now, taking the vocals out of any other of Chic's hits might be iffy but...I always thought Dance, Dance, Dance sounded like it would've worked well as an instrumental break....perhaps just my taste. The galloping bass would be fine without the vocals, and that guitar lick too...

Oh well, to each his own.

:) I actually bought the Goody Goody LP this weekend (the vendor said "great LP, hear the music's not bad either"...reffering to the cleavage shot..oi). Still, adore "It Looks Like Love" and the new Dimitri re-edti also. A bit dubbier.
