    ARTIST SPOTLIGHT #20 - CERRONE

Cerrone is one of the ultimate disco artists ... although it is a controversial subject with his signature hit under his name. I thought we'd elaborate on his stuff... my favorites are:

    GIVE ME LOVE
    LOVE IN 'C' MINOR
    BACKTRACK
    SUPERNATURE

Give Me Love is one of my fave Eurodisco track and I am not a huge fan of the style...he makes it work for me though. "Oh Cerrone!!!" as the cooing girls moaned...

Absolutely-the girls are his trademark. What a group of voices. Just like Marky and Quinny I'm a huge fan of the little Frenchie. I lost him in the 80's though where only "Cerrone's dub" stayed in my head. "Hysteria" was supa-dupa, although it was mainly constructed around old grooves but it's very well done. I'm curious what he's going to do in the years to come. Recycle? Create new disco? Change of style?

    Favos:
    - "Love in C minor"
    - "Black is black"
    - "Midnite lady"
    - "Cerrone's paradise"
    - "Give me love"
    - "Supernature/In the smoke"
    - "Striptease"
    - "Call me tonight"
    - "Love and be love"
    - "Take me"
    - The entire Cerrone IV-"The Golden Touch"

    rather than the US

as the US version does not include the spoken intro and the UK cover is better!! Also love the heart and soul orchestra version of this. My other Cerrone favorite is "Music of Life" from Cerrone IV i think....

Is it the UK version that's featured on the CD re-issue with picture of the man himself plus ladies rather than the 'hands grabbing arms' picture that's on the US version?
