As a very good and different compilation (not the usual standards) "Disco Connection-authentic classic disco 1976-1981" (WSM 2002) is absolutely worth looking for.

"Lipstick" from Michel Polnareff is a rare treasure and the reason to buy this one IMO. Al the other ones are also excellent goodies.

I like this CD a lot. My only gripe: "Smack Dab..." is an edit. The full 12" version would have been nice. :( "Whistle Bump" is short, too, but that's out there on the Club Floor Classics comp.

Why is it that 'Harmony' by Suzi Lane never finds its way onto a WEA or other label compilation? It was on Elektra & was very popular but I had to find the original vinyl LP instead.

The compilation was from the UK and aimed at UK audiences. Harmony did not even get a UK release so would not be known to many (personally I love it but only got it at the time because it made number 1 on the Billboard disco chart which made me think it must be good)

Absolutely untrue! Harmony did get a 12" UK release at the time. I have a copy to prove it.

Wear It Out is an edit too on this compilation?

I'd love to see the instrumental of this cut somewhere on CD someday.

I'm amazed at that as I was looking for it for months and ended up getting the US album in frustration.

I bought this over a year ago for
    LIPSTICK by MICHEL POLNAREFF.
The sonics on that song are terrible. Very distorted. Hard to listen to. Worst sounding song on that compelation.
I just ordered Disco Connection II
Always looking for remastered 12\" versions on CD

:( I want the full 12"....such a great song, and perhaps Stargard's best.

Disco Connection 2 is worth it for Everybody Loves A Good Thing by Phreek! (I really wanna see the full I'm A Big Freak (R U 1 2) on a release somewhere in the future...perhaps Disco Connection 3?!!!??!!)
