Hey,
a new album by CERRONE? Oh no...

The compilation by Bob Sinclair was excellent from last year.
A 2002 version along the same lines might be appealing.
Keep the faith and everything will come your way as time marches on!
No this isnt another compilation, this is a true new album with new tracks.

Quite a few people here have mentioned Bob Sinclair sounding like Cerrone. Because of that I went out and purchased his "Champs Elysees" CD. WRONG!On 2002-06-14 15:00, The Lord of Flatbush wrote:

Man, was I disappointed.
So, what am I missing or do his other projects not sound like this one?

On Cerrone's Homepage Cerrone.net the release date was Nov.18th. He collaborates with Don Ray, Nile Rodgers, the Cerrone angels and his son Gregory. The album features 12 tracks. I could listen to a few songs. "Hysteria" is in modern french house style, "Love on the dancefloor" contains samples of the middlepart of "Look for love" and the track "Funky love" contains samples of "Took you so long" and from the intro of "Cerrone's paradise".
Bustin\' lights all around me ..
Sounds good , but as for the cover of the album im not sure for the design of it ,but then again we dont see it well , tracks sounds good .... now humm lets get it ! 8)
**Dreamin\' about those disco lights**
I#ve bought the Double vinyl issue of it in a Import shop in Dortmund(Channel Jam). There is also a cover version of Don Ray's "Got to have loving" on it with Nile Rodgers on guitar and female vocals. All 12 tracks can be heard as 30 sec. samples on amazon.fr.

You should listen to the first album of Bob Sinclar, "Paradise", which is for me one of the best house album ever done, much better than "Champs Elysées".Quite a few people here have mentioned Bob Sinclair sounding like Cerrone. Because of that I went out and purchased his "Champs Elysees" CD. WRONG! Man, was I disappointed.
And I think the pleasant cover can please everybody
PS : Ultimate Funk is an original and fantastic song

I agree with you Com King: Paradise is way better than Champs Elysees.
my favorite is the opener "Get Into The Music" - sounds a bit like "The Bomb" that kenny Dope made back in '95.
However Champs Elysees did have James D-Train Williams on two tracks. U have to thank Mr. Sinclar for presenting him to a new audience.
Com King; K-Bee,
Thanks --- I'm always down for giving second chances. But what is Mr. Sinclair's link to Cerrone? Why these comparisons?

Bob Sinclar recently compiled an album with Cerrone tracks - both originals and remixes
Here's a review of it:

Thanks, K-Bee. Now I get it :) . I was really surprised to see all those Cerrone releases after "Cerrone IX" under the discography. Nobody seems to talk much about them. Was he experimenting with different styles or what? I don't remember any being released here in the US.Originally Written by K-Bee

At the beginning, "Cerrone by Bob Sinclar" should have just been the first compilation of a serie (everybody spoke about "Cerrone by Modjo", Cerrone by "Trouble Men" etc...)
But nobody spoke about it again, so I suppose it's a burried project.
The other link between Cerrone and Bob Sinclar is that Sinclar used a Cerrone's hit sample (Look for love) for its star title "feel for you" ....
Finally, today, bob sinclar has the same "sexy" image as Cerrone used to have

Today i heard the new Cerrone album at the record shop, and i've got only one thing to say: ITS BAD!
I LOVE his old stuff, but his new wack cliché-disco-house album is a waste of time and money.
DON'T BUY IT OUT OF NOSTALGIA, there's a much better new housy stuff out there.

Thanx for the advice nonkel. I've got quite a few Cerrone LPs/CDs from the 70', 80's & 90's & I have to say some are brilliant & some are dross! Like Giorgio Moroder, Cerrone is capable of moments of pure genious but alas, like Mr.Moroder is capable of losing the plot big time! Oh well, at least nobody can accuse either of them of being predictable i suppose.(BTW, both gents are rumoured to be total shits personality-wise according to bits I've read on this site over the months!)
...ya gotta beat the street......
