That's a fine way to spend a New Years-eve!!
Glad to see Tavares is still around. Why doesn't somebody pick 'em up and writes new disco-stuff for them?
My wife and I attended this party Friday night and we had just a fabulous time. The hall was huge and packed. The DJ was terrific and knows Disco music like he was there (just a young guy too!). What a terrific job he did spinning the vinyl! The Tavares brothers!!!!!!!! We had a table right on the stage and when Butch Tavares sang "More Than A Woman" to my wife I thought she was just going to melt. :D It really was a trip back to 1976 and I sincerely wish you were all there to have enjoyed it with us - you'd still be recovering!
We're never too old to Boogie the Night Away. 8)

Tavares recently performed in NYC, at the Copacabana. I think it was a few weeks ago.

Hello Guys! Wow...Tavares...That has to be one of the most underrated 1970's band! :D I remember seeing them at their genisis before their "disco side" showed up. The song "Check It Out" was a great soul/pop song in 1973. And one of my very, very favorite Tavares records was the doubled sided hit
"My Ship/Remember What I Told You To Forget." As a self-appointed teenage D.J. at Junior High dances, I remember playing the ballad, "Remember What I Told You To Forget" as an auditorium full of horny young teens hung tightly and closely to one another  My favorite Tavares song was their remake of "Freeride" You NEVER hear that great dance record anymore!!! Also, does anyone remember when they appeared on American Bandstand and the girls went wild!!!! One girl in particular screamed out to "Pooch" when they finished their first number. Dick didn't seem to pleased by the girl's drama but politely acknowledged her interest  Anyway, it's great to hear Tavares is still about!Take Care Guys...Mario 8)
