More questions relating to Syndrums
Hi all. Continuing with my old thread I have a few more questions.
I've been trying to search all over the net for the origins of the Syndrum though I don't seem to get a definite answer of when they were first invented or used. But I've also come across another related device called the "Synare" which was advertised in 1977. Did these also produce the "PING" or "P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-POWWWW" sound???
Also I noticed in the 14 minute version of La Belle Epoque's "Black Is Black" from 1977 had electronic drum sounds especially at the beginning which had that "B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-BOWWWWW" sound which sounds like a lower pitch version of the Syndrum sound. Were Syndrums or Synares used to produce that sound or were some other synth used to create that sound?
Also doing some research on Black Slate's reggae hit "Sticks Man" which had a lot of Syndrumming, there apparently are two versions "Sticks Man" which I read on AMG was a hit in UK in 1976 and "Sticks Man '80" which was released on their 1980 "Amigo" album. Just wondering did the original "Sticks Man" from 1976/77 used the "P-P-P-P-P-POW" Syndrum sound or was it used only on "Sticks Man '80"???
