I like it, too. If it had been released earlier...say in 1974- 1975 maybe it woulda been played, maybe not. But by the time it was released (1977) the dancefloor sound was "harder" than this...so this was more a R&B radio-friendly song, I'd say.![]()
:o Not sure whether or not it qualifies as TRUE disco, as it's rather slow, but it's such a great cut. I'm using it close out my latest CD as I find it a nice end to a more soulful, upbeat set. Was this cut ever played in clubs?

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I checked the old Billboard charts last night and the only song to be charted on the Disco Charts from this LP was "Dan Swit Me" which they list as "Dance With Me" for the first few weeks.
It's curious in that this record is only listed on the New York City chart --not on any of the other 14 city charts and merits a place in the 35-40 range. Even curioser, it disappears from the NYC list after about 3 weeks and is not charted anywhere else--yet remains at #39-40 for about 4 more weeks!!!! How could this happen? :o :o :o

I find it hard to believe it didn't chart in Philly which is Patti's hometown. It's still heavily played on 98.7 KISS FM despite their narrowing playlist from the 1960's and 1970's.
What's wrong with being on the soul side of things? Black is beautiful.
