Morning Type Track Played At The Saint, Need ID

Ok since I cant post sound samples here i'll have a go at typing lyrics lol..

"manhattan, i love you manhattan....lady manhattan.."

are some of the lyrics. Its a very nice melody..kinda sounds like a combo of mellow Costandinos styled stuff and early Seventh Avenue/Ian Levine type stuff. Anyone got a clue??

Jimmy, I think I know this track because Robbie Leslie played it at Encore. Louis Love, "Manhattan."

Thanks Keefe :) That has to be it cause it was in fact Robbie's New Years '82 footage where I heard this the other night, which reminded me of how much I loved this song and needed to find out what it was. You have any info on the track as in year, label, etc?

Sorry Jimmy, the first time I heard the record was via Robbie! Why not send him a quick Email inquiry?

Yea thats a good idea actualy :D I have heard this record before in Philly quite a few years ago and had totaly forgot about it..and now since I heard it on Robbie's old footage its something im near obbsessed with and need to find a copy LOL. All I could find around for Louis Love was some promo 12'' of another song from 1979 on the Ariola America label..and it wasnt on it's B side unfortunatly :(

Oooo, I know a thing or two about being obsessed with locating a record for the collection. Yikes!! Why do you think I worked part time at Aloha Records after a regular full time job? I needed to be one of the first to get to those promos, imports and new releases! :o I'm sure Mark will confirm as I pushed and shoved the other employees, and him, out of the way to get to those new releases!

As for Mr. Love, I don't ever recall this record being played in SF. I wonder if this tune was one of those East Coast exclusives??

    Happy Holidays!

I emailed Robbie, dont know how often he answers emails but will see if he gets back to me

I honestly dont think it was an east coast exclusive record cause my good friend knew of and has the other 12'' that I keep finding for Louis Love (forget the title lol) and he lives on west coast. It was a track that back east ya didnt hear a whole lot but enough that you'll remember it type thing..they played it sometimes as the night was winding down or right before working into some ballads.

Happy Holidays to you too :D

Ive found out that this song was "unreleased" :o How in the world did someone other than Robbie have this track then?? Unless maybe one of the DJs in philly knew Robbie maybe? This is confusing now..at least I can stop looking for vinyl like a mad man LOL if anyone has any input please let me know

I'm wondering if the record company released a few promo pressings to select dj's and never issued a regular release.

Both of those ideas could be possible..if there was promo pressings I must find one! LOL..and id pay top dollar (within reason) for it if in fact that was the case.

I wonder if there is a longer version than the 4:20 clip I heard.
