Seals & Crofts have a disco record

Do you remember "Summer Breeze" by Seals & Crofts (1972) ? ---
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.

Their site www.sealsandcrofts.com says that they recorded a disco tune called "You're The Love" :D

I wouldn't exactly call it a disco record per se; it's bouncy, but so was Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing". Actually, this is a good song by Seals & Crofts; it made the Top 20 but you rarely hear it on the radio anymore (I heard it on Jukebox Radio when they switched to a 60s/70s AC format back around 1998 or so).

My response when finding this 12 " recently :

Slow tempo mover with a funky bass line and ample strings , presented by Gene Page ....which I guess for many mellower Rock & Rollers meant Seals & Crofts had gone : DISCO

    here's the 45 release:

No way, Summer Breeze is definitely not disco. Not even the remake by the Isley's could be considered funk. It's just a folky pop song. If it's disco, then so is this track

Yeah! I had forgotten about "You're The Love" until it showed up on a 1978 compilation cd I bought several years ago. The song has a definite disco feel to it, but I don't know that I'd give it full-fledged Disco status. More like Disco-ish, or Disco influenced, as much pop music was during 1977-1979. Songs like this, I believe, are why a lot of people think that "everything in the late '70s was Disco", and why so many of us got fed up with Disco (and "Disco") back then.

Lovely song, though, and all the nicer since it hasn't been played to death over the last 30 years.
