looking for one song from 1982

Hi!

I heard in october 1982 (!) song called "Dance it´s my life" from the legendary finnish dance music radioshow "Ocsid". But I´m not sure about the band, it could have been something like "Midnight Runners" or so. I remember the band was from Canada (?). I taped the song, but I lost the c-cassette over 20 years ago :-( The song was so great that I would like to have it any format. Does someone know anything about this song and where I could find it?

I think the artist is Midnight Powers or something like that. It's on that Canadian 2 LP with Elton Motello's "Jet Boy, Jet Girl" & "Spin It' by Sunbelt.

Midnight Powers sounds right. Eh? :oops:

Yep, I found it. It's on the "Prime Cuts 1" LP on Importe/12 from 1981.

"Dance, It's my Life" by Midnight Powers. :D

Many thanks for your reply!!! It must be Midnight Powers as that name sounds little like Midnight Runners :-) Now I must find that LP from 1981, maybe not a easy task...

If memory serves me right (which it may not :D ) , only the instrumental version was on the Prime Cuts LP. The vocal version was later released on DISCONET and it was also on a 12" on some off-beat label (Red Bird???)

The Midnight Powers track was huge I believe all over the globe. In New York people would break into a collective whistling concerto as soon as the strings came on. - If you got an md player I can easily send it to you on a minidisc.

Niin, kiitoksia vaan viestistäsi! Mulla ei ole md-soitinta, mutta melkein mikä tahansa muu formaatti kelpaa. Olisi kyllä hienoa saada tuo kappale yli 20 vuoden tauon jälkeen itselle. Ripatti muistaakseni vielä soitti sen piisin silloin joltain kasetilta ja äänenlaatu oli melko tukkoinen ja lisänä taisi olla niitä peruskohinoita mitä siihen aikaan radioaalloilla oli.

What a surprise....I just opened and played this Disconet for the first time :o Apparently bought it mainly because of the 'EuroDance Mix' on the Bonus side two, "Dance it's my life" is nice, still shows signs of the old disco sound which was fading rapidly by '81, well, in my neck of the woods anyways... don't they sound a bit like the Village people?

The operator has informed us on several occasions that only the English language is allowed here...:-)
While I cannot transfer vinyls to cds I may have an old skool tape recorder still in working order somewhere. Let me have your address and I'll send a tape if the recorder is okay. If not, you can always pop to my town and hear it spinned live and extremely LOUD in a club, early next year.
