    Galveston

and even better state why the title gives that fact away.......
I'm not sure what you mean by the title gives it away :-?
but it was written by Jimmy Webb as an anti Vietnam song
and history shows the U.S. used Galveston as a training ground during the Vietnam war

    Am i close?

Have already written this once, when i pressed submit last time it said could not find page & i've had to type it all out again.
I think the webs on the blink tonight

not marbles for no1 STAN my guess is that they were around years before that, good to have a guess though,i suppose this is too hard a question it was something really quite new at the time clue i guess you could say it was something kind of 'stupid' ,hey stan youre getting me all cryptic :D

but no2 you are spot on well done 8) i did hear it more like they shipped out from there so i suppose they would have had a training ground too, perhaps NICKY can tell us more, i just find this fascinating that all the times i have heard this i never realised what it was about, not that im a fan you understand
