The rumor has been that they are one in the same person. Could have been because she was contracted to another label at around the same time and using another name was the only way around that obstacle.
I remember reading that Chantal Curtis was the vocalist for the 1978 album "Michelle" released on West End Records. Songs from it were "Disco Dance" (later remixed by Patrick Cowley) and "Can You Feel It". Can anyone confirm if this is true, and, if so, why didn't they just use her real name??

Whether or not the above is true, I have a related question.
You are talking about plain "Michele", whose 1978 LP consisted of Can't you feel it / Disco dance / Hold me squeeze me / Magic love.
Could this be the same person as Michele Freeman, who released a self-titled LP in 1979? See http://www.discomusic.com/records-more/3256_0_2_0_C/
Thanks
