    Pre-Christmas Cryptic Quiz 2004

    Hi everyone :D :D :D

Remember the Spring Quiz, well i promised some more, sorry it's took so long but here it is.

The following are cryptic clues to Songs/Artists. All are well known disco/soul type hits. Answers must include Singer/Group & Song. Who's gonna get the most?
    Good Luck

Oh by the way you will have to be quick to beat DISCODISK he was on top form last time 12 out of 13

1# I’m going on a cruise from the UK to the USA – 1978
From East to West – Voyage DISCODISK

2# Can you here a tune coming from those plants over there? – 1978
In the Bush - Musique NickNack

3# I picked this group before any other but was warned to stay way from them as I might get very badly hurt, or even shot - 1973
Armed & Extremely Dangerous – First Choice DISCODISK

4# This puckering group sang about a groovy place to live - 1980
Funky Town – Lipps inc DISCODISK

5# This group looked like they had lost something. When I saw them again they looked different somehow - 1980
    Searching – Change DISCODISK

6# This female sang “taeb eht” - 1977
Turn the Beat Around – Vicky Sue Robinson DISCODISK

7# This solid duo could make you well again - 1979
Found a Cure – Ashford & Simpson DISCODISK

8# She sang about her boyfriend knocked her down & never stopped the rat? - 1981
Hit & Run Lover – Carol Jiani markydefad

9# The protectors of the Milky Way took off but instead of going up the went down - 1977
Which Way is Up – Stargard keefelc

10# The fans of this group must have been hard of hearing (or perhaps the band were not playing loud enough) because when they asked for one of their hits to be played they always said the same thing - 1979 Brit/UK
Turn the Music Up - Players Association markydefad

11# No one had heard of the cartoon mouse in armour but the next day he was famous
Overnight Sensation - Jerry Knight markydefad
12# This groups disco song only lasted 60 seconds - 1986
It Only Takes a Minute – Tavares NickNack

13# This female singer stayed in bed, rested & took her tablets as instructed - 1975
Doctors Orders – Carol Douglas NickNack

So it's over for now DISCODISK triumphs again due to his early flourish, but it's getting closer.

Thanks to all who took part, enjoyed the mind games

I'll give your minds a rest till Christmas

DISCODISK you say the clues are bitches but you've come up trumps again, what can i do with people as good as you out there, make it harder (i thought had after last time).

I must just say at this point well done :D :D :D

I thought the clue "taeb eht" might be a hard one but you saw straight through it :-?

These are hard but I'll take some guesses:

    #2: "How" by Flower
    #10: "Over & Over" - Disco Circus
#12: "It Only Takes a Minute" - Tavares
    #13: "Doctor's Orders" - Carol Douglas

Great quiz, Stan. I love your stuff even though I rarely get anything.

Question: If I'm right on number 12, 1986 was the remix, not the original release date. Correct?

For those of you wondering what the ****

Cartoon mouse = Jerry, in armour = Knight, but the next day he was famous = Overnight Sensation

Only one left & i thought it was so much easier than this one
