Create Your Own Dream Disco Compilation

Since there's such a disparity in taste around here...it might be interesting to see what your "Dream Disco Compilation" would contain--if you could be a Joey Negro for a few days, could obtain the rights and clearances and just generally be a Master of the Disco Universe. :D

You get to choose and create the program for your own double or single cd set. I would assume you'd want to concentrate on material that is beloved by you and rather unknown to others (to show off your impeccably good taste) or that is known but currently "unavailable" on cd or a combination of both.

I'm thinking of my list. Hmmmmm.... I may start with "Hollywood Hot." But then again I might not.

Big can o' worms you've just opened here Marky. I posted this very topic some time ago and nobody 'bit' then.

Mine might start with Y.M.C.A. (you know, the really rare *@&$&@ mix) or maybe it wouldn't.

It doesn't have to be a dick-measuring contest. Who's is biggest; therefore, best, kinda thang.

Just a "wish list". Taste is rather personal. I really don't care if my list looks "pedestrian" to others. It's about what I like, what I can't find and what I want to hear.

I am just being curious--not judgmental. My DJ heroes often played records I couldn't stand--because they were popular and someone else loved them. I don't ever wanna hear "Can We Try Again" by Technique again--but others love it. That's their problem. I would flip that 12" and play the "(Looking For Someone to Love) Tonight" side. But that's just me.

Right now, I'm thinking about Eleventh Hour, Brandi Wells & Tod Foster for my list. If you're gonna puke, PUKE ON, BRO'!!!

I fear it's already turned into a dick fest, however unintentioned it was. Maybe a small dick fest, at least.

Marky: Perhaps you ought to add the caveat "Compilation with commercial release intentions" and that way it might actually be more meaningful. It's one thing to fulfil your own wishes, something entirely different to balance those needs with those of the commercial marketplace. Just a thought.

Marky...we are right there dude, that is seeing eye to eye if you know what I mean. :) I have been thinking about such a compilation for months. I decided to break it up in 2 cd compilation. One more euro flavored though the music may not necessarily be from there, i.e. Take Me Home. The other, with a little more R&B funk flayva :D
I haven't grouped everything yet but here are the songs I'm working with:
    Cocomotion (what a surprise)
    Dance To The Drummer's Beat
    Your Love
    Doing It In The Park
    Movin"
What Can I Do For You
    Use Your Imagination
    Get Your Boom Boom
    Hot Stuff/Bad Girls
    The Boss
    Have A Nice Day
    Bra
    Supernature
    Move On Up
    If There's Love
    etc...

Oh Quinny, ya don't have to be like Ebenezer Scrooge on this one. Come-on, have some fun and play along :D

Paul: I've got time for ya 'cos yer snake is still curled up where it should be. You've shown good taste.

However, I can't accept your offer 'cos there'll be half a dozen macho types ready to bury my every pick. A skirmish in a dark alley I can handle, but a good kicking and then being run over by a car afterwards, wouldn't go down too well.

Perhaps suicide by haggis might be a way out for me.

Sheesh!!! It's always the "Cool Hand Luke" thang: the "what we got here is a failure to communicate" deal.   :o    :o

It's called create YOUR own..for YOURself...something YOU don't have/something YOU want on cd...not something to market to the rest of the creatures on the earth. :o  :o

    Isn't it rich?
    Isn't it queer?
    Losing your timing
    this late in your career?

Send OUT the damn clown. :P

Now Quinny, I know you can handle whatever criticisms come your way. You've got a fairly thick hide.
I know there'll be some who'll see your list and just pounce on it because well, it came from you. Just remember it's all in good fun. By the way, I'm sure there'll be people who just saw my list and probably thought and/or will post that my choices are weak. My response is as they say in Cali, whatever! :D

Marky: You're getting to the age where getting a tad hot under the collar could be terminally life restricting. Cool down bro' (I can call ya bro' after all this time, no?) you might have a heart attack!! :o  :o
Though ya gotta admit that the serpent momentarily, nay cunningly, unzipped yer flies with the first list. Surely ya have?

OK, to move to topic along and away from piss and dicks. Marky, It's My Life makes my list as well. It will be on the euro disk, towards the end of it with songs like Lies.
I'm leaning towards chronoligical order but then again I might just goes with what flows better.

Wow, this is a toughie, Marky--and the kind of thing I tend to overthink to make sure I get it Just Right.

But come on, do you really expect us to believe that some of those entries were off the top of your head??!

That's a lot of info for not doing any checking, hmmm?

Oh, and Tod Foster's "Dancin'"? Bleeech!

Now, stop with all the pissing, boys. I happen to know (and NOT from personal experience) that watersports are not Marky's cup of kink. :P
