Miquel Brown "Symphony of Love" ???

Why is Miquel Brown's "Symphony of Love" remixed by Jimmy Simpson is totaly ignored while that horrible "So Many Men" Hi-NRG trash record is considered a classic?

Not everyone has ignored the "real" classic 8)

Now as for Jimmy Smpson(?), I have it as being remixed by Jim Burgess as per the label. Is there another version/mix?

I agree that Miquel's "Symphony of Love" is a gorgeous and undrerrated song.

But come on: "So Many Men..." became a hit mostly thanks to its suggestive lyrics. "For 52 weeks of every year, there's a new man every day"--is it any wonder this song was huge with gay crowds? Well, that's assuming you believe gays had any influence on dance music. Which we've been reminded here frequently that they didn't.

Uh, this post wasn't too gay, was it?

I think everyone here realizes that gays had quite a profound influence on Disco and entertainment in general. Anyone who thinks not is in denial. Every interview I have done with DJs and artists, both straight and gay, has made that clear. For the non-believers please read...

But can it be true that Sinitta, the daughter of Miquel, is living as a bag lady in the streets of London?

I sure hope this rumor isn't true, Jussi. I really enjoyed Sinitta's dance pop back in the late '80s/early '90s. Heck, what I paid for one of her Asian import CDs should have covered her rent for a month!

But your post prompted me to do a Google search, and I found the November 2004 item (below) that seems to refute the homeless rumor. The most frightening part is that she is the ex-girlfriend of Simon Cowell! (Another site revealed that she had also had a tryst on a waterbed with Brad Pitt!)

<< Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend Sinitta kept a breast cancer scare secret, and continued with her plans to join the X Factor. [I have no idea what X Factor is.]

"I found a lump on my breast in July," she told The Mirror. "The specialist was confident it was a cyst but it hurt so much I couldn't help worry it might be more serious."

The '80s singer didn't tell Cowell, who invited her to the X Factor auditions, about the scare - as she didn't want to worry him.

The lump was removed and Sinitta was given the all-clear before the live shows began, when she finally told Simon the truth.

"He was upset I hadn't told him sooner but I didn't want to worry him," she added.

Sinitta now helps Simon's remaining acts - Rowetta and Steve - to prepare for their live performances. The newspaper claims that she is planning to release a gospel album after the show finishes. >>

Well, as was said in the post above, this is obviously not true. Sinitta has been appearing regularly in the X-Factor (a Pop-Idol style show), and presumably they are paying her enough to live with a roof over her head! :)

    Regards, Darren

Well, good to hear the rumour was just that, and that the girl is still active and in the limelight where she belongs. Sinitta was such a cheerful sight singing Love On A Mountaintop, it would have been terrible to discover it was her asking if you had any spare change, mate.

The X factor is a variant on American Idol.

On this show, three judges are also competing namely - Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. They each have acts who perform against each other and each week one is voted off by the public.

Sinitta is part of Simon's grooming team and looks good each week. It would appear that there is no animosity since their break up (unlike the unbridled hatred that is displayed between Simon and Sharon)
