Would $1.00 be too much for this overhyped crapola?
Sorry Marcio, but if this is your idea of disco heaven, I'd rather go to hell!!!

I've tried desperately to understand why this record is so loved by so many and every time it just totally defeats me. What does anyone see in it??

Sun Sun Sun is held in very esteem by hipper djs today. The long version on the 12" abounds with scenes of wild rituals, stormy skies, flickering flames, lava floes and bare painted skin. Primal funky trance material, offbeat and adventuresome. A classic, no less. The album's opening track Have A Nice Weekend is good as well.

Jussi: I just knew you'd come to its rescue. Apart from liking it for its hipness factor (even I, or anyone else could do that), how do you imagine this record has any redeaming factors? It's disjointed, seriously amateur in its execution, weird beyond belief and danceable only to a minutest degree. In other words it's just plain bad and yet somehow, guys like you manage to wax lyrical about it and convert others!!
I guess bullshit really does baffle brains.

I always thought DJs played records for people to dance to?
The hipness quotient (read bullshit quotient) has been applied to a great many records (note: not, many great records)through time, some of which proved to be absolute DAWGS. This record would therefore have to be filed under Bull Mastif, just about the biggest dawg I've ever seen.

At stumps (cricketing term for end of play, hence end of the day) you either like it or loathe it. Guess you know where I'm coming from?

And you are right, though nowadays there are bars everywhere that feature djs spinning dance music for people who just sip drinks and chill. Dare go out more and discover all sorts of baffling modern phenomena:-)! As for this Sun Sun Sun track, it was always a big favourite with all kinds of dancers with a sense of rhythm, as well as the hip and the terminally outré. For those securely stuck in one groove this record might not work. For others, it was/is disco heaven indeed. Free your mind and your ass will follow...

Jussi: I never let BAD records even enter my mind (if I can help it), so sure as hell, my ass'll never move to this. Guess I'm content with the records I know and love already.
For example; today I've been listening to a whole heap of tunes that I'd forgotten, or never heard before, but been touted here by someone. Out of 20 odd records, only about 3 have had me making a mental note to search 'em out.

Should I feel elated or deflated, safe or insecure?
