    TOP 5 COOL DISCO COVERS...

    here's my top 5 covers....

    discharge - the boystown gang
fire night dance - peter jacques band
    i am - earth,wind and fire
    munich machine - munich machine
    risque - chic

special mention goes to the time i went into aloha records in s.f. and i saw what i think was the 12" import single for a song by easy going called fear....up close the drawing on the cover was of a alien, but if u saw the cover from a distance u would see something totally different....if markydefad and keefelc see this maybe they would remember what it was....i would say,but i'm kinda embarassed  (yet i still bought it...i just didn't let my parents see it)

    Hi dvdjamm!
I'll have to look and see if I have this twelve - I can't remember the cover. However, at the point where I was working at Aloha, we weren't shocked by the artwork on very many covers. We just bitched if they looked particularly low budget and if the artist had on a tacky outfit!

    dvdjamm,

I think I have the Easy Going LP with "Fear" and "I Strip You" on it. There is a black and gray drawing on the cover...can't recall it distinctly now....but I never thought of it as "sexual."

    Is that the one? :o

Marky: You're thinking of the right cover. It's the import lp on Unidisc. Take a good look at it, then lean it against something and start backing away. Fucking outrageous! It's the head of a... (well, take a guess. :) )

This may come as a disappointment to some, but when I think of great disco picture covers, I don’t think of naked men and women. I prefer more otherworldly, colorful, and fantastic covers. Examples include Space Project’s “Disco From Another Galaxy”, Silvetti’s “World Without Words”, Barretto’s “Eye Of The Beholder”, Atmosfear’s “En Trance”, “Light As A Feather” by Azymuth, “Touch In The Night” by Silent Circle, “Living On Video” by Trans-X, and just about any cover from Space, Aleph, Koto, Cyber People, Hipnosis, Meco, Xenon, or Laserdance.

Back in mid-80, Hideki Saijo, a Japanese teen idol who had already released several disco records in the mid and late 70s(including a cover of YMCA! ), put out a disco-leaning record with a cover photo of him dressed in a track uniform, standing in the blocks and leaning forward, as if ready to start running. His torso is almost parallel with the ground, and if you look below his face down his chest, you can see a HUGE bulge. Needless to say, the cover was banned and replaced with a far more sedate photo.

    V. skooter: if that's what you want try Roxy Music's "Country Life", Be Bop Deluxe's "SunBurst Finish" or Golden Earring's "Moontan" (the original has a scantily clad lady on the cover). Not to mention most of the old Ohio Players album covers.

yeah! ohio players have the best covers! like "funk pump" by the Counts! http://www.dustygroove.com/images/pr...pump~_101b.jpg

but i like simple covers with people dancing... with a lot of colours.... and somethin that tells you there's a good disco track in it... what about "galactic funk"? http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
or showing some clothes and stuff representing that time
