Yes, Donna Summer's artwork is definitely in the abstract field. I had read that she had gotten interested in this kind of art during her stay in Germany pre-"Love To Love You Baby" success.

Finally I saw a Donna Summer's painting. It's sooooooooooooooo abstract :)

"Everyone knows the real reason why you got that part it was the time you spent on that casting couch"--Antoine Merriwether
"Excuse me, Miss Thing, but both of us spent time on that couch"--Blaine Edwards
Call me out-of-the-loop, but is Donna Summer still as homophobic as she was when she uttered the famous "... but not the way you are now" words to the very audience that made her career?
I certainly hope the Good Lord has seen fit to knock some sense into the woman's head. I was aghast on many levels when I heard the story of how she turned her back on her gay audience.
Some of the best times I ever had were dancing to Ms. Summer's tunes, in the middle of a gay crowd at a gay disco -- and I'm a happily married man.

Ever make it to Provincetown, Mass in the summer during the early to mid '70s? The place was W - I - L - D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Some of the best times I ever had were dancing to Ms. Summer's tunes, in the middle of a gay crowd at a gay disco -- and I'm a happily married man.
20 or so years later i still tend (or prefer ?) to believe that Donna never actually uttered any anti-gay remarks, instead comments about her born again christian beliefs being misinterpreted in the media and leading to her becoming an easy scapegoat for rising AIDS hysteria. Has anybody ever actually been able to pinpoint a single TV, radio or magazine interview where she actually said that AIDS was divine rebritution on homosexuals ?
I even remember reading once that she came out with the old God made Adam and Eve chesnut during a 1983 concert, obviously desperate to be bottled off ! I think it was a case of her gay fans turning their backs on her instead of the other way around.
Never! I remember from the time that there was much hearsay and innuendo but no one ever produced any eyewitnesses or video of the supposed remarks (I didn't see any and I followed the story). As far as I'm concerned it's been a dead issue for 20 years. Donna performed at the Hammerstein Ballroom for her "Live and More Encore" concert 5 years ago and gave her gay audience front row center attention so... It's a dead issue.
I recall back in the '80s Ms. Summer uttering the words at a Gay Pride festival to which she was invited: "I love you all, just not the way you are now." The location was South Florida. It was shortly after the whole Anita Bryant fiasco (remember when one couldn't get a Screwdriver or a Mimosa at nearly any restaurant or club in New York?).
It's nice to hear that Ms. Summer has attenuated her opinions.
