Good point Jeff. I was contemplating a list of my usual suspects but I decided against rehashing all that cause what's on currently the radio is infinitely worse than a "Cocomotion/Boogie Motion"/Hills of Katmandu"/Babe We're Gonna Love Tonight" megamix, right????

Europe: The Final Countdown, or the John & Yoko Chrismas song, please Mr Dj. And could we have "Angie" by The Rolling Stones to drive us to near suicide...?

What no Limp Bizkit? Korn? P.Diddy("We Invented The Remix")? Bone-Thugz-N-Harmony?
Ol Dirty Bastard? Rage Against The Machine? Slipknot? Ludacris?

Spare me from GangstaRap & Headbangin Speed Metal.

Give me a steady IV drip of Celine/Mariah/Whiney crap anyday. Yeah, I'm gettin' OLD.

    Touche' Nicky.

That was a typo, but very apropos. NO?

From now on we can refer to them as "The Praline/Pariah/Whineys": The Triumverate of over-singin', ALMOST over-the-hill divas of the '90's.

Be prepared. Cause if life, thus far, has taught me any lessons, it's that what's gonna replace them is gonna be worse. Someday, in the not too distant future we'll we wishin' & hopin' we had them to listen to.

    Even you Graham & Blaxman.

    Hey MARKY,
you are sooo right about this. Just see the new "DIVAS", the ones who are chasing the crown now: BRITNEY SQUEAKS(with her skinny looks and her "mosquito" voice) and CRISTINA ARGHILLERA, among other "singers". I didn't include J-Lo on this bunch of untalented ladies because, you know, my blood pressure rises when I see her on my TV screen... And I like her song PLAY. You go, J-lo! Latin ladies rules!

    Peace and PLAY ON!

Hell's play list eh? Well I have one with all of the songs I HATE HATE HATE:

Hampster Dance Technofied (My number one hate on the play list and the worst song on this planet)
Eminem (Anything from him, his music is HORRIBLE)
Aqua - Barby Girl and Dr Jones (YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!)
Technohead - I Wanna Be A Hippy & I Wanna Get Stoned On Marijuana (The second worst song ever recorded)
Hocus Pocus - Here's Johnny (Stupid)
Rednecks - Cotten-eye Joe (Country techno sucks)
Hazee Fantaizee - Shiny Shiny (Stupid)
Chris Isaac (I hate his music especially his moaning and especially "Somebody's Crying")
Billy Ray Cyrus - Achy Breaky Heart (I hate country music)
(That awful song called "Murderer" done by some modern hip-hop group and they say "**** You" a lot and say "murderer" a lot)
Green Day (Most of their crap, but some of their stuff is likeable)
(Any death rock group that sings hellish crap along the lines of "RAAHHHHH RAHHHH ROOOAAAARRRR ROOOAAAARRRR KILLL THIS **** THAT", I guess I'm thinking of gothic bands)
Meatloaf - You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth/Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad (I'm sick of those songs)
Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues For You (That song is so damn depressing)
Cruel Sea - Loving You (A crappy cover version of Minnie Riperton and he sounds like Scooby Doo, damn everytime a bloke tries to sing that song he sounds really crap)
Cake - I Will Survive (For those who hate Gloria Gaynor's version, this one sounds 100 times worse)
Hootie & The Blow Fish (They suck)
Bob The Builder Technofied (Never mix kids show theme songs with techno)
Rojer Ramjet Theme Song (I can't stand it)

    Anything from boy bands especially:
Hanson - MBop (shitty boy bands)
    Human Nature (shitty boy bands)
    N-Sync (shitty boy bands)
    Savage Garden (shitty boy bands)
    Backstreet Boys (shitty boy bands)

I'm trying to think of more to add to the hell's play list of mine.

First of all - surely this thread should be under "Discuss Non-Music Related Items" rather than "What Are We Listening To This Week". Coz U can be SURE that I'm NOT listening to ANY of these !!!

There is a current "house / pop" record in our Top 40 by MAD DONNA and it is a house version of the children's favourite "THE WHEELS ON THE BUS". I mean - how low can you go . ABSOLUTELY BLOODY AWFUL!!!
    T-O B-E A-V-O-I-D-E-D.

Generally, HELL to me is any commercial pop music station. For example, as the wonderful Ozzie Osbourne said about Britney yesterday, and I quote fropm the newspaper: "She's F******* Crap!!" Right on, Ozzie!!!!

It's time to feel SORRY for poor old JAZZ PILGRIM. I am a good Dad you know, and I "like" to sit with my 12 year old son and listening to his music. They call it "bonding". I can just about take Sum 41 AND Puddle of Mudd, but SLIPNOT/LIMP BISKIT/EMINEM. Aaahhhhh!!!! ARMAGEDDON - HERE WE COME!!!!!

I absolutely cannot stand childrens music, it's so dinky and nursery rhyming, although when you are a kid you love it. I remember when I was a kid I enjoyed kiddy music and even watched Playschool (a kid's show) now that I'm older I've grown out of that phase and find childrens music really uncool.

Anyhow back to these crappy-arse technofied kiddy music. So far there is:
Hampster Dance (I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE THIS SONG)
Bob The Builder (That song should sit on rusty nails)
Wheels On The Bus (as you mentioned, fortunately I haven't heard it and hope never to hear it)

I guess the reasons why these techno groups are coming up with this sort of bumcrap is because they are running out of ideas of to make their own music.

I wonder what other kiddy songs would be technofied:
    Postman Pat
    Noddy
Rojer Ramjet (I dread to think)
    Rocko's Modern Life
Mary Had A Little Lamb (That would kill me)
    The Pushbike Song (Arrggggghhhhhh)
She'd Be Coming Around The Mountain
Miss Polly Had A Dolly (If that happen I'd break out all over with hives)
    Sesame Street
    Looney Tunes

I bet at least one of these songs will be used in house/techno music and seeing "Bob The Builder" is the song currently technofied the chances of "Postman Pat" being remixed are very real.

Already been done, in fact about 10 years ago. Smart E's "Sesame's Treat" -- a drum'n'bass version of the Sesame Street theme song. And it was a sizeable hit too, I might add.

This one will probably be on Hell's Playlist in the near future...

Interesting you should mention Postman Pat. I bet this will make you laugh. When my son was around three or four years old, I bought him a tape containing all the music from the Postman Pat show. And do you know what?? On that tape was a very decent and DANCEABLE jazz track. I kid not!! I wish I was DJing at the time. It would have been fantastic to have covered up the record (or tape) and played it as an unknown jazz dancer. A real left-fielder! Postman Pat on 12-inch!!

    Anybody else heard it?

Now that's very unusual, usually on kids shows you'd expect kiddy music. But there's no doubt some technofreak will remix Postman Pat's main theme song and it would probably go like this:
"Postman Pat <<<<oonce oonce>>>> Postman Pat <<<<oonce oonce>>>> Postman Pat and his black and white cat <<<<oonce oonce oonce oonce ooooooooooonce ooooooooooonce, oonce oonce oonce oonce ooooooooooonce ooooooooooonce>>>> Postman Pat is a really happy man". I can't help myself laughing at the thought of this song being remixed    .
