What we saw was not a film but a computer generated series of flat, two-dimensional effects, completely devoid of any charm or magic and offering only blandness in catastrophic propotions. All the sensitivity and aesthetics of a supermarket. No inspiration, no creativity. We had seen it all before and do not want see any more. The latest episode signals clearly that the Star Wars saga is truly over. Or what do you think -?

I didn't think it was that bad. It was certainly parsecs beyond the alternating absurdity and boredom of Episode 1. My main issues with Episode 2 were the ridiculous dialogue, and Anakin's character in general. ("It's not fair! Master Obi-Wan doesn't listen to me!!")Why is it he seems so much more like a child in this film than in the previous one? Anyway...

Overall, I found the film entertaining. I don't think it's a masterpiece of cinema, but I would be willing to pay to see it again -- something I could never say about the previous installment. Episode 1 was the most unjustly successful film since Batman.

I think all Star War movies have been over rated. At best, I would say---good entertainment for the kids.

The new StarWars sux big time!

Another crappy George Lucas production. It's about time he stopped directing his own movies. He should have had the new Star Wars directed by LUC BESON, who did a fantastic job on THE FIFTH ELEMENT.
The problem with george lucas is that he takes his StarWars movies too seriously, leaving no space for (good) humor.
I only like the old StarWars movies for the way that the special effects were realised back in those days, without the use of computer, but still looking great!

These are some SciFi movies that i really like: all the ALIENS movies, BLADE RUNNER (my all time favorite), GATTACA, LA CIT… DES ENFANTS PERDU, BRAZIL, both TERMINATOR movies, TWELVE MONKEYS, i even like the BACK 2 THE FUTURE movies (mainly for youth sentimental reasons), plus many more ....

OH, and i'm really looking forward to the new SPIELBERG movie: MINORITY REPORT! From the looks of the trailers this must be a fantastic SCIFI movie.

Well, I guess I'm Lucas' bitch. He can put anything out there with Stars Wars attached to it and he's got my money.
So I guess I can't be objective but I'll try...err do, there is no try. Ok, the dialogue was uninspiring, like it came from a committee. Perhaps there should have been more female Jedi.
I loved Yoda though. Finally he showed why he is a master. Yes, I will see it again. Let's hope there's a episode 3, 78 and 9. By the way, did you guys catch previews of The Matrix?

    Hi everybody!
My opinion: The old episodes are definitely the best ones. Episode 1 was a piece of crap: just some kind of demonstration for computer-generated effects. But I think the new Episode (2) is better than the first one - there were some Szenes I really like - for example the Joda-fighting-Szene .

Btw: The new versions (with digital effects) of Epi 4-6 also were worse than the originals.

May the force be with you!

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT --- and I thought Episode 1 was horrendous. At least in this one I got all the characters' names. I had no clue who Liam Neeson was supposed to be. Did anyone use his damn name more than once in Episode 1?

Back to Episode 2 - Lucas needs to step back and let someone with a 'fresh eye' direct. He seems more interested in generating a "special fx" fest than putting together a good movie. This was garbage --- a constantly whining Anakin who 'miraculously' is almost the same age now as the woman he fell in love with as a child. Time warp anyone? Little tongue-in-cheek humor and what was there was delivered in heavy-handed fashion. Talents of Samuel L. Jackson totally wasted in this role. Thank god for the Yoda fight scene. At least that was fun to watch.

For those of us who saw the original on a 'real big screen' (not these over-sized living rooms they call theatres today) in 1977, we know all too well that Lucas has lost the magic.

    Re: Star Wars

Hahahha, Star Wars 2000 sucks all the way. What a shame. Just found this thread years later. But Luc Besson as director? Because of 5th element? Noooooooooooooooo. With Luc its the same drame. He ain't no game anymore. He did a brilliant "The Big Blue", a nice "Subway", a good "Leon", a bad "Jeanne" and a boring Fifth Element that is basically just a gay remix of the brilliant "Blade Runner", Zoo Lander Edit :icon_lol: well, thats all subjectiv of course.
