    It's here... But this isn't a full-service record store.

    WELCOME TO DISCOMUSIC.COM!

    1. Go to the section of this site labeled "Disco Records A-Z"

    2. SEARCH for each selection. They're all there, I assure you, as these are common items. On the same webpage for each of your selections will be access to AMAZON US and UK, and GEMM. Your selection will be displayed in the search bar. Just press GO and you're on your way to buying the music you need.

    3. [JUST IN CASE...] DO NOT expect members of this website to send you music via MP3 nor mail you bootleg copies of copyrighted material.

Feel free to post an answer or additional questions and they'll be responded to promptly. Also, as soon as you succeed, just post a quickie letting me know how you made out!

Just to add, the Destination and France Joli LPs were both reissued on CD, and should be easy to buy (using the links provided from this site)

i do not understand why some people still defend record labels

    especially the majors

they are a bunch of greedy and money hungry assholes

they exploit and rape various styles of music

they are one of the main reasons for the disco backlash

they do not care about anything that does not benefit them

i am proud of the fact that my generation (under 25) will be the ones to finally put the nail in their coffin very soon

    they are all assholes

they have been ripping off artists for decades

this surely must be common knowledge on this board as i am one of the youngest members on here

get with the current times and forget about the past

i realize they may have had some people back then who actually cared about the music

but that was years ago and all of them are gone now

totally different staff and totally different crowd now

they are currently exploiting everything from country to hip hop to punk music

    they must all suffer now

what better way to make someone suffer than to hit them in their pockets

i cant wait to witness their total destruction and demise

what comes around goes around and they are definitely going to get what is coming to them

    assholes

Oh give me a break Spellbound. If you don't like them then don't buy their music, but more importantly don't steal it either. Don't put yourself up on some pedestal as though you are some crusader or something. You are not.

If you are so for the rights of the artist then send the group money for each song you steal.

Spellbound has a right to say what he feels. Personally, I can't blame people for using MP3s because who wants to shell out around fifteen dollars for a CD just so they can hear one or two songs. Also, in case anyone hasn't really noticed, CD singles are becoming more and more scarce. It's inevitable that more people are getting their music over the internet now.

i never said i was a crusader. in fact i prefer having the original vinyl. i just do not understand why a lot of people who are older than me still hold on to an allegiance to the almighty evil record label.

times have changed and they (record labels) are going to get what is coming to them. as far as the artists are concerned they all knew/know what they are getting themselves into when they sign that contract.

the industry right now is full of generation x people selling nothing but trash to the masses. the youth have caught on to their ways so therefore all of the file sharing going on is nothing but a reaction to the current trends perpetuated by the evil major record label.

i dont think that the majors were any less evil back in the 1970's and opposed to right now. the majors did play a significant role in the backlash against disco. i just think that they are selling more trash right now to the masses than ever before.

times have changed and i think that the time has come for everybody in here to finally let go of any allegiance they may still have to the almighty evil major record label.

kids are going to download regardless and besides the major record labels have nobody but themselves to blame for this.

like i said before what goes around comes around and they are most definitely going to get what is coming to them

come to think of it i am a crusader. but i am just one crusader out of the millions out there who are eventually going to lead to the downfall of the evil major record labels.

can someone please give me one good reason why anyone should still hold an allegiance to a major record label and their copyrights?

especially in this day and age...

the only good reason i can think of is keeping music retailers in business BUT every honest retailer out there already knows how evil the music industry is...

so they should have been making other arrangements a LONG time a go in anticipation of such an occurrence.

It is inevitable that the industry will eventually change. They are losing too much money not to do so. On the other hand, just because you and others think the industry is "evil" doesn't make it right to steal someone else's music. It's not about allegiance to a corporate label, it's about right and wrong, simple as that.

I'm not going to sit here and play "holier than thou" because nothing could be further from the truth. As a dj back in the day I was selling my tapes just like everyone else. But, my tapes weren't all over the internet (it didn't exist back then :o ) for thousands of others to get for free. Me selling a handful of cassettes didn't help cripple the industry. Just the opposite, as people who heard the tapes went out and bought the music. That's the major difference. Because "the corporations are bastards" or "the music sucks" or "the CDs are too expensive" have become the excuses to steal from the very artists you claim to like and support. News flash: Bring down the industry in this manner and the artists go with them. Not a constructive way to make change.

Bohemio, apologies (I'm sure others feel the same) for taking your thread way off track.
