The LP has two versions: the 13-minute mix on the side 1, and a shorter, more down-tempo version on side 2. The one on side 2 is strangely called a 'medley', even though it omits several of the passages found in side one.
I was wondering if someone can tell me which version is the original LP version and which was the 12'' mix? Theres the common heard version which I always thought was the 12'' when in fact now im having some doubts after discussing it with a friend that it was the other way around? The one version I refer to that I thought was the original LP version is the one that goes almost totaly instrumental twards the end leaving out the vocals "oooh, blah blah blah..your a fool, your a fool, etc". Then the one with those vocals I always thought was the 12'' cause on the LP, those vocals that didnt appear in the version im talkin bout turn up at the end of the LP in the "medley" thingie.
Im very confused on this, and I had seen that the 12'' was supposed to be a medley mix of everything remixed. So can someone please let me know which is which after all that explaining LOL

Hi Graham :DOriginally Written by Graham_Start
I am the friend who Jimmy was discussing this with, and I think he confused everyone with his description! What Jimmy's discussing is regarding the different versions of the full 13 minute plus suite. He has two different versions, one at 13:44 and another at 13:23.
I personally think the latter is the 12 inch version as described by Bernie here: http://www.discomusic.com/records-more/506_0_2_0_M38/
and that the 13:44 version is the LP version.
However Jimmy's 13:23 mp3 version is described as "French LP version", I'm sure that's simply an incorrect naming. If anyone can help clarify whether the LP version was the same in all countries, or any other information, please write!
Regards, Darren

Darren,
I have the original French album and "Jungle D.J." clocks in at 15:00 while the 12 inch remix by Jim Burgess is 13:23. Since I don't have the US pressing of the album I can't confirm if it is the same as the French import.
I thought I had the album in the Vault, but I don't so I will add now.

I think that the 15:00 time given on the sleeve is somewhat of an exaggeration (this has been mentioned elsewhere). I believe it is actually 13:44, as per the other version Jimmy has.Originally Written by Bernie

Allow me to add to the confusion:
The US Polydor lp has the timing on the cover as 15:00. But, if you add up the tracks it clocks in at 13:50. The Polydor 12" remix by Jim Burgess shows 13:23.

Does your American copy have the same artwork as the French version?

I'll try and confirm the timing later tonight if I get a chance.

Hi Bernie,
Yes, the artwork is the same. Mine is a promo copy, PD-1-6171. It has the same international catalog number you show in smaller print.
The back of the jacket is odd that all of the cartoon work is in English, the artists credits are given in French and English and the album sides are labeled "Face A" and "Face B", European style. The vinyl credits are English and sides are labeled '1' and '2'.
Looks like Polydor was a little 'rushed' on this project. :D
That settles it then...wow tons of confusion LOL, but we all finally got it straight :D So it's the other way around than what I originaly thought! If I can get lucky I need to someday get a copy of these on vinyl. Thanks everyone![]()

Far from adding to the confusion, I think your information confirms my thoughts. 13:44 is very similar to 13:50, about 0.5% difference in turntable speed can account for that.Originally Written by NickNack
So the conclusion is, there are two different versions:
a) The LP Version at 13:44/13:50 ish, but given as 15:00 on the cover
b) The 12 inch Jim Burgess remix at 13:23.
Thanks everyone! :D
