Make a nice package and send them to Belgium :D
I'm not very familiar with "Synergy" from Costandinos. Can you fill me in on that one please.
The others are great too. I would surely come to Bear Bust next year but I don't know what it is.
I was in Orlando for a few days for Bear Bust, and I happened to find this great shop with heaps of disco. Prices were, for the most part, quite reasonable...
Madleen Kane: Forbidden Love promo 12"
Madleen Kane: Rough Diamond promo 12"
Gloria Gaynor: Let Me Know (I Have A Right) promo 12" with two versions, one with spoken dialog and one without
Carol Douglas: Midnight Love Affair US LP (better mastering than Cnd which I have)
Kenny Brawner & Raw Sugar: self-titled LP
Touch: Me and You 12" (produced by Tony Valor)
TJM: self-titled LP
The Wonderland Band: Wonderwoman LP (WEEEEEAAAAK!!)

I used to have the TJM LP...I think the track I liked most was called 'Small Circle Of Friends' or similar. I don't see it anymore though it has been issued on UK CD, but I think it's cut from vinyl and unprocessed.
The Touch B-side ('Energizer') is one of my favourite disco records.
What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
A fairly decent cut from an otherwise rather weak album. I think it's based on Vivaldi's Four Seasons, IIRC. One of the last albums Costandinos did for Casablanca. Like most of his 12s, it's just an edit, not a remix.Originally Written by Videoskooter

Of course, there is no shortage of reasons to visit Orlando, what with the dozens of theme parks near the city and all.

Forrrce: Is this another side to you that we haven't seen before? :D
Dear Graham:
I know all too well what a "Bear Bust" is. I remember vividly the "Bear Runs" and "Leather Runs" at IP Fire Island back in the '70s and early '80s. The little queens who worked as chambermaids and pool-boys etc. would literally be scared to death! I just can't imagine a Bear Bust in a family-kinda place like Orlando.
Now, down to business. The Carol Douglas "Midnight Love Affair" mix sounds tasty... I just have the original 12"; forget what's on the other side. What was the name of this marvelous store? I'm gonna be near Orlando after the holidays but at least I can write it down on my things to do list. I'll be flying to Miami and then driving north and, I think, flying outta either Orlando or Daytona Beach.
Thanks in advance,
Paul - a.k.a. judydoggie
P.S. -- do you think you should tell him what a Bear Bust is?
- Yours, musically

Didn't know there was a full LP released. How the rest of it (besides the title track)?Rod: Shake It UP LP
KBee: Shake it Up was the best track by a mile. If you see it going really cheap it's worth the effort, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
I namecheck it occasionally, Q. It's a little like Crown Heights Affair. I take it you have it...and if not, why not...eh....EH?!!! :lol:Originally Written by QUINNY
Forrrce: Yes, I do have a CD copy of it and had to give it a quick listen, to try and fathom out where you were coming from. Maybe CHA watered down by 100% or CHA pre disco mix (I couldn't believe how insipid some of their hit toons were on LP prior to beefing up and discotizing).
It would make a good disco radio track (dreams of the day). Don't suppose many would know it.
Don't like it then, Q? :-? :D
What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
It's O.K. I guess.
Don't let me stop you clearing dancefloors with it though.
Bear Bust--sounds like a bunch of beefy, hairy guys getting together for some fun.![]()

Never been too keen on predictable and safe sets, Q. :-)Originally Written by QUINNY

It was quite surreal, especially given that there was some overlap with a few Christian conventions at the main hotel. Some of the guests were quite upset that the pool was closed for what was only listed as a "private function", but we were doing them a favour...Originally Written by judydoggie
Oh, this is just the LP that I'm speaking of, not the 12". I *love* "In The Morning".Originally Written by judydoggie
Rock And Roll Heaven, 1814 N Orange Ave. Despite the name, they have an impressive selection of Disco, Soul, Rap, Dance, etc. There are some CDs and cassettes, but the bulk of the store is vinyl. Lots of 7" singles too. I found it a bit confusing as Kleeer were filed under "soul" but Carol Douglas under "disco", Pet Shop Boys were under "dance" but Tears For Fears under "alt rock". Still, I think I did pretty good.Originally Written by judydoggie

I've only given it a quick listen, but I can't say I found it to be memorable.Originally Written by K-Bee
Same here, although I was never too keen on flogging absolute dead horses either (not that I'm inferring anything). As a pro DJ I had to know on which side my discs were sprinkled with fairy dust, so to speak.Originally Written by Forrrce

OMG-I have read it as BEER Bust
OK-I'm learning every day here.![]()
Graham: I just bought the Quartz album also (I don't know what you paid, I paid one dollar). I like it but wonder why there's no information on the cover about the artist (maybe there's info on the net, I haven't looked). I had never heard it, I just saw it was on the Marlin label and figured it should be good. I also bought (for the third time, I should add) John Miles' "Stranger in the City" for the smokin' disco track "Slow Down". Gosh, we used to sweat to that one.......
Congratulations Graham! The 12" of "Rough Diamond" is rare with a
non commercial Jim Burgess mix(the flamenco break threatens to segue
into Santa Esmerelda) Flip it over for the sleaze classic "Touch My Heart"
and listen to that sexy bass...
