Ashlee Blames It On the BAND!!!!

Anyone see Ashlee Simpson's embarrasing performance on SNL last Saturday? The little sister of dingbat pop princess Jessica is an Avril Lavigne-clone punker. She apparently has even eschewed the obligatory SHOWBIZ nosejob girls with beaks like Margaret Hamilton in "The Wizard of Oz", usually opt for. In other words, she HARDCORE BADASS!!!

The first song went as planned. "Pieces of Me" or something like that.

Then later in the show, she was intro'd for her second number. The band started playing.... but (on the west coast anyway) she strangely didn't sing....she did a little Irish jig and then sorta slunk offstage...the band kept playing...the SNL logo came up and they cut to commercial.

Then, at the goodbye segment...Jude Law said something and Ashlee embarrasingly "blamed it on her band". :o :o :o

I still didn't know what happened.

Sunday morning on Fox news, they teased with a mention of the SNL fiasco, According to them...SNL technicians started playing the audio tape of the FIRST song while the band was playing the SECOND song....and Ashlee was sooo busted for attempting a Milli Vanilli!!! Their clip actually showed a little vocal coming out ...maybe the first few lines...but I swear on the west coast delayed play,...they edited that cause I heard nothing but the band. I heard nothing...but what I thought was a very long instrumental opening to a song that never happened.
    :o
But then she BLAMED IT ON HER BAND!!!!!!!!
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

Didn't see it Marky but I've been hearing about this today. Honestly, I didn't even know there was a Ashlee Simpson. Is she some big star?

    sister and band blame

My boss said Jessica Simpson is not as dingbatty as she seems; she plays up the dippy aspect for laughs. Jess said this herself too, regarding when she was younger and wanted to attract guys. (My boss is female with a boyfriend, so she is not biased).
Anyway, this blaming it on her band stuff may not be as farfetched as it seems. In an Associated Press interview, her father Joe said the band's drummer pushed the wrong button onstage. I am not certain her father did not do any bending the truth to defend his daughter anywhere in this interview. However, it makes sense to me that a band member on a show like that may have acdess to some control buttons regarding music beds and guide vocals. A SNL insider who spoke on condition of namelessness said guide vocals have been used with other arists before. I am not a fan of Jessica or Ashlee, I have never heard Ashlee's music and barely heard any of Jessica's music, I have not much interest in hearing either, but I would rahter hear them than Britney S. or Christina A.. I am just trying to consider the possibilities regarding this band blame thing. Maybe her dad even lied about it, but I am not assuming that.
