Bee Gees - Children Of The World LP

Hey all, just wanted to post about this album. I know somethin was mentioned bout it recently but..I wanted to say that I pulled this out after a long time and WOW! This is not your common Bee Gees disco era LP. Yes it was the technical begining of it but..this album aside from You Should Be Dancin' (which is a great track anyway) is pure soul and funk! Anyone that hates Bee Gees I recomend checkin this LP out for sure and givin it a nice hard listen..you'll be addicted! I used to put this LP down and thought there were only a few good songs but..its all solid. What do you all think that know it?

Well, I'm a Bee Gees fan, so my opinion about them may be a little biased. But I have to say that it's a great album. When I posted the poll about 'Can't keep a good man down' I was trying to get people to hear it and rediscover the Gibb Brothers.

My favs are "You should be dancing" (of course), "Love so Right", "Can't keep a good man down", "Subway", and "You stepped into my life". But I like all songs in this album.

Nice to see the Bee Gees finally getting some props around here. When I started here, back in tha day, saying anthing remotely nice about them was taboo!!!!

They were akin to "Disco Duck" on the disco reverence food chain.

Everytime I mentioned them I was slammed and ridiculed. Oooh the shame. :P

BTW, anyone see the SNL repeat where Jimmy Fallon (as Barry Gibb) & Justin Timberlake (as Robin Gibb) do the Barry Gibb Talk Show"??? It was shown twice recently on SNL repeats.

Jimmy does Barry's falsetto to a tee-hee-hee. Justin tries not to break up everytime Jimmy bleats.

The theme song is sung to the melody of "Nights On Broadway"...."doin' it all on the Barry Gibb Talk show...talkin' bout chest hair and funky cool medallions"...somethin' like that. Very funny. :D :D :D
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

    album & SNL parody

"Children Of The World" has great variety; I like "Love So Right", the title song, "Boogie Child", "Subway", etc although I preferred Yvonne Elliman's covers of their "Love Me" (and later of their "If I Can't Have You".).
Yes I taped the Saturday Night Live parody about the Barry Gibb talk show, that was very funny. The other guy imitated Robin's tendency to hold his ear while singing, too. Robin's much less hairy in recent years though. "Nights On Broadway" was from "Main Course" album.
