Mario,
According to the Billboard charts that I'm compiling on a weekly basis, "Foot Stompin' Music" was a Top 10 New York and a Top 10 LA record. They usually bundled it with "Disco Stomp" on the NYC charts.
Hi Guys...As a devotee of 1974/75 disco music, I remember Hamiliton Bohannon's "Foot Stompin' Music" was a HUGE hit out here in the southwest. Our local dance show "The Steve Crosno Show" played the grooves out of this record! I remember that the kids did this funny little dance to this song. They would bob both arms/hands downward to one side toward their their upper side thighs and then they'd switch to the other side... as though they were washing clothes on an old-fashioned wash board!  Was "Foot Stompin' Music" a big hit elsewhere around the country/world? Thanks & Take Care....Mario 8)

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Yes it was a biggie for me in Spain. I believe it was a moderate chart hit in the U.K.
It was massive in the clubs here. Bohannon always worked in Belgian discos. "Let's start the dance" also is still a standard nowadays and so is "Disco stomp".
A vastly underrated rhythm king, our Hamilton!!!
And all those youngsters who found Paul Johnson's "Get get down" so original and hip
It was a complete Bohannon rip-off ("Me and the gang"). And that's a fact!
If you ever visit our biggest gay (Hi Marky) club "Red & Blue-Antwerp" you will here Bohannon several times and you can see how the crowd is cheering on his soundz. BTW it's the best vintage disco-club in our country!
Hey Guys...Thanks for your reply!!! It's interesting Quinny and Videoskooter that "Foot Stompin' Music" was a huge hit in Spain and Belgium....As I live along the Mexican border and here too, Bohannon was big!!! I wonder why the American clubs didn't latch on to this solid beat record? P.S. I also remember around that same time hearing Jimmy BoHorn's "Gimmie Some" ...Remember that?![]()
P.S.S. Videoskooter...I'm hoping that your post was a personal invite for me...Might be awhile as I'm terrified of long flights... But the disco you described sounds really hot...Might be worth my phobia to head over to Belgium to check it out!!!! Take Care All!!!!
