ARTIST SPOTLIGHT #10 - THE EMOTIONS

Since we've been having low traffic lately w/ low posting.... I thought I'd spread out this topic over time.



The Emotions we're a fine disco/r&b group that consisted of sisters Wanda, Sheila and Jeanette Hutchinson. Jeanette replaced by cousin Theresa Davis in 1970. Later by sister Pamela Hutchinson. Jeanette returned in 1978.


I really didn't know of them in the early years with the exception of FROM TOYS TO BOYS which just happened to be played on my local top 40 station. The song itself didn't even crack the hot 100. :roll: The LP's FLOWERS and REJOICE are r&b classics... 8)

I still!!!! haven't seen FLOWERS on CD yet :-? wtf???

I really didn't know these ladies performed in the early '70s.
You mentioned those 2 killer albums and you definitely are right. I think modern female vocalists should give 'em a listen to hear how it's done.
Still, my favorite remains Flower.

I bought the Flowers LP not too long ago and it blew me away completely. Gotta put it as my fav here :)
