    it's funny you mentioned that song because it's one of the few songs whose remake I prefer to the original! Holloway's vocal on the original sounds SO strained, especially when compared to David Clayton Thomas' soulful rendition! But I know not everyone will agree. I don't hate BS&T at all, "Spinning Wheel" and "Blues Part 2" are some of my favs. If there's ONE remake of a soul song that turns my stomach it's KC's horrible attempt at "Yes I'm Ready". I can sing better than that, and I can't sing at all...

    The San Remo Strings used some of the same musicians as motown, and had a similar sound. They also did remakes of Motown tunes. With the pulsating rhythm, high bpms and the extra strings, this could also be called disco's roots.
