Which version are you talking about? Charo had one and last winter there was a brand new rendition by Amanda Lear, more than 20 years after the tune first appeared. Was the actual tv theme ever realesed on vinyl?
I love it.Great arrangement with the orchestration and brass section.I have always heard it but now I listen to it differently now.I know what to listen for. What do you guys think of it?

The word evokes not just a type of music or a kind of dance or even a style of dress.It\'s also a new social order of black and white, gay and straight, rich and poor, all hot, sweaty and, most likely, high, together.

Wow,I knew only of the t.v. version.I'd don't think it was released as a 12".But most likely on some rhino records compilation.

I have a 12" of "Love Theme from Love Boat" by Key Hano. It's a 'GIANT 45 RPM' issued during the mid-70's on the Libra label. (Label has no date.) It's a PART 1 and 2 affair, which is actually a short, 4:43, and a long, 7:30 version. Taken from the TV theme --- Aaron Spelling has publishing rights on the label.
As for liking it, well, let's just say maybe now it's a 'guilty pleasure'. Back then, I ranked it VERY low. I didn't like these productions --- LOVE BOAT, I LOVE LUCY, MASH --- all booooring.

Hey Phil long time no talk bro, email me some time so we can catch up and see whats been goin on. Anyway, the original version of "Love Boat Theme" like someone had said by Jack Jones did have a 12" disco mix. It was only 4:?? but i have heard it and it is beautiful, despite what anyone says, unfortunatly i dont own it. A real gr8 version is by Charo. Produced by John Davis on the salsoul label, this by far is the best version even though i only have it in a salsoul records mix by Dimitri and still yet to hear the entire record and own (its on my millions of disco "want" lists..lol). Anyway, i think youll love this version beings i know you like John Davis.

Wow man, that sounds great! I dont remember your email adress its been so long..lol. Mine is sumeria78@yahoo.com so u can email me and we'll talk from there. Anyway, i downloaded the 12 mix for "Love Boat", actually found it on a site. I must have boomed it out of my stereo several times. Its a great mix, though very short as i stated in my other post, good to have it. Just gotta find vinyl now so i can mix with it.
