Sounds like Teddy Pendergrass. His song was More I Get, the More I Want . Nice uptempo song. I hope that helps.
hey...
looking for that uptempo killer disco track that goes "THE MORE I GET...THE MORE I WANT"...

thanks a lot...

hey paul...

BUT UNFORTUNATELY THAT AINT IT...SEEMS TO ME LIKE THIS IS SOME KIND OF A COVER VERSION...WITH FEMALE VOCALS...

daniel.
From a previous thread here I learned that Lorraine Johnson also did "The More I Get, The More I Want". It's an album track, don't know which.
It's the first track on her first LP, "The more I want". It was also released as a 12".
This LP and her second LP "I'm learning to dance all over again" were re-released together on one CD, see here:

I have a version by KWS feat. Teddy Pendergrass which is dreadful. GEMM also lists Double Dee and East West Connection as other artists with this title. Don't know if it's the same song or not --- never heard the last two.
Pardon me disco daniel. Nicky, you know I have to take you to task homey. Whadaya mean Teddy is dreadful?Originally Written by NickNack

The East West Connection's cover version is great, but has male vocals...
I'm not talking about Teddy, bro. It's what KWS does to the song with their 'deconstruction/reconstruction' mixing. It's f**ked up --- all Philly sound lost.Originally Written by paul
My apologies Nicky...nevermind!
Find them and destroy them!
No apology needed. Anyway, you know I wouldn't be coming down on old Teddy. He's our "I DON'T DO DISCO" brother who kept everybody on the dancefloor. :DOriginally Written by paul
Nicky, I didn't know Teddy was another of those I don't disco people. These folks kill me
Find them and destroy them!
Best thing I can say is ...
1) go to www.allmusic.com
2) register for free
3) then you can search on the title and from the reply list, you can listen to song samples.
(works for me)
