lonely girl lost her heart tune to identify

Hi

I'd like to get some help with the artist and songtitle for this song for a friend.

I got some lyrics that may or may not be 100% what is sung.
The song is light disco or pop if you will, the singers is a girl, probably an american caucasian, who is singing light

I have only been given a snippet of the song in dreadful quality as it is from an old tape from in mid eighties (she thinks) and these are the lyrics I could sort of make out:

"too many lonely tears.
Watch the twilight hit the sky?
going round and round.
Theres no twilight left for you
here in my hometown.
Easy come and easy go,
baby love me truly (-ly?)
Left my heart so long ago"

I can put the mp3 up for http download somewhere if you have a clue and want to be sure.
