    DiscoPlex

While ripping vynil I came across one that is very interesting. It appears to be a demo for radio stations interested in moving to the Disco format. The 16 min demo is mixed by Bobby DJ Guttadaro and has plugs by The Three Degrees and others. DiscoPlex was a venture of Billboard Publications.

Does anyone have further information or know if radio sations actualy purchased pre mixed sets to play?

    Thanks

Never heard of this, but would love to see it. If you have a moment could you add it along with a label scan to the Vault?

Sure will. I tried last night to post it for everyone to hear but Comcast does not allow you to do it or the problem was between the keyboard and the chair  . Anyway, if you know a site that will allow me to post it with a link, let me know. I no longer see the PM button or I would tell you how you can grab it for posting.

Thanks MMM, but I wasn't referring to posting an audio clip. Was asking if you would add the release details and possibly a scan of the label/cover to the Vault section of the site. Thanks again!

OK, I submited the info but it did not ask me to provide the album picture...it must be me  Let me know what to do.

Radio station program sales demo providing radio stations with pre mixed Disco air time. Continuous Disco music overlayed with some of the items below and artist interviwews (The Three Degrees).

"slip queuing the music Bobby DJ Guttadaro, twice named Top National DJ by Billboard magazine...Bobby DJ will squence the dynamic cross fades that will bring to your station the hot paced and exhilaration of live disco action"

"...A sleek, silky, sweeping surge of of non stop music that brings the ultimate Disco to radio"

Billboard magazines pionering efforts recognize the emergance of Disco as music in a class by itself... a music fantasy that becomes every listers dream"

Thanks for the upload MMM. This sounds like it was made in early 79 based on the tunes played. Guess it shows just how mainstream disco had become - there was a lot of money to be made
