One of my most living memories is the sound of a disco mix called "the magic cruzeiro" It was a representative end of the seventies medley containing at the most the song "Your Love" by Lime. Have any of you heard such a disc? Does it really exist or it was a dream?

Hi, i'm a disco fan from Venezuela, and i have 27 years looking for the name of the singer of the Kelly Marie's version(Feels Like I'm In Love) that apperars on this compilation(Flashback Of A Genius). I will appreciate any information
Thanks
Think that's : Mungo Jerry - Feels Like I'm In Love
(With an extra beat over it)
"Flashback of a Genius" was originally a DiscoNet medley. It was bootlegged at least half-a-dozen times. All different labels and giving credit to different people. But...under that name...they're all the same medley. And, in my opinion as a career-editor, it's one of the very best medleys of that time period.
My copy is on a plain red label, that reads:
"Special Disco Mix", ASPD 1000 - 33 1/3 R.P.M., TIME 13:56
SIDE A - FLASHBACK OF A GENIUS (The entire medley stays at 134-135 BPM. And the anchor for the medley is LIME's "Your Love". With everything running on-top-of a loop of the intro beats from "Your Love".)
SIDE B - CLASSIC MEDLEY (This is, also, one of the DiscoNet Classic Medleys. It starts with "Let's Groove", ends with "Lovin' Is Really My Game", and the TIME = 21:07)
__Pulse__...DUDE!!!!:icon_biggrin: Thank you!!!
After 20-something years, I'd given-up hope of ever finding out who that was! I was certain it was Elvis, but he didn't record it.
I just punched-in your info and found this on a Wikepedia page:
Written by Ray Dorset (or Peter Yellowstone) of Mungo Jerry, the song was originally intended for Elvis Presley but he died before it could be pitched to him.
I had no idea Ray Dorset/Peter Yellowstone was in Mungo Jerry! And it explains the Elvis-esque sound of the vocals.
This is definitely one of those Disco WOO-HOO! moments for me.:icon_mrgreen:
