Hey guys I'm trying to track down a song which my friend
who grew up in Detroit says was very popular in the DT area
I'm guessing late 70's to early 80's.
The chorus was about the infamous "Woodward Avenue"
something about partying on Woodward Ave, and he says
it sounded very similar to Roger Zapp style funk. I've found several songs called Woodward Ave
one by Yusef Lateef-jazz, Transglobal Underground, world techno, and a few Detroit techno mixes but no original funk??
So it may not be called "Woodward Ave"
I figure there must be at least one old school music expert from Detroit on this board who can help solve this mystery.
