AND "NO"...the board member is NOT FANTOMASS!!!![]()
I just knew some smartass buddy of mine was gonna inquire about that!!!
I've been doing research for a certain board member (who shall remain nameless)and I've been forcing myself to watch some Al Parker porno from the late'70's-early 80's. I recently watched "Turned On" and was surprised to hear a WELL-KNOWN disco tune displayed very prominently on the soundtrack.
NAME THAT TUNE.

You don't really expect us to believe that you had to "force" yourself, do you?
Anyway, to get sort of back on-topic... I've heard loads of commercial (although not mainstream) music used in pornos. Tangerine Dream, Robert Schroeder, Kitaro, Klaus Schulze... and I would be very surprised if the music was used with permission.
Except, of course, for the German 70s erotic film "Body Love", for which Schulze released not one, but two soundtrack albums... and they're two of his very best albums, I might add.
I'll take a guess. "In the Bush"?? or "Come On and Do It"On 2002-05-27 15:26, markydefad wrote:

"Yes", Graham, I repeat, "YES"--I had to be FORCED to watch Al P. PORNO!!!! Strapped in a chair and my eyelids propped open like in, was It "A Clockwork Orange"? Oh, wherefore art thou, Boodi?
No, seriously...nice try on your guesses, nrgbeat...BUT you are WRONG!!!!!!! (I just listened to Queen Samantha's "Close Your Eyes", BTW--and NOW I'm listening to a newly restored Bionic Boogie "Hot Butterfly" CD that appeared in my mailbox on Saturday. Thanks to you-know-who.)
One member of this forum will know the answer to this question, I'm pretty sure--but he be gone til maybe tomorrow. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!
Now I don't know if the producers of the porno paid royalties to the producer of the record--HE was a BIG OLE QUEEN, BTW...so maybe AL did him a "favor", if ya get my drift.
Previously, I maintained that the music in old porn was mostly generic rip-off sound-alike stuff. I swore to some guy that the song in the early bar scene of the Gage Brothers "L.A. Tool & Die" was ersatz (that's fake, kids) Giorgio Moroder. In reality, it WAS "Baby I Love You" by Easy Going. So I learned a little lesson on that one.

I just read on the internet about Al Parker.
He was only 40 yrs old when he died of AIDS. He was a nice looking guy too. It mentioned that he had his foreskin reattached. Ouch!!!
the first time I ever heard the medley from the first Munich Machine album (B side to Get On That Funk Train) was nearly 20 years ago as the soundtrack to a porn film. I later discovered that the medley had not been commissiioned for the film (which I niaively believed at the time) and got hold of a copy. I cannot listen to it without picturing some of the images!
Taking this sentence to heart, I'll go with "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" by Sylvester. If not Sylvester, maybe Divine. On 2002-05-27 18:07, markydefad wrote:

No, Nicky.
I'm talking about the Producer of the record, not the artist.
And, incidentally, YOU have met this person.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Jacques Morali? I was going to guess either him, Sylvester, or Patrick Cowley, but you just narrowed it down considerably...
Excuse me Marky, my pseudoname is spelled FANTOMAS ---haha. I guess it must be HELL to force yourself to watch porno.![]()
Oops, musta been a typo.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I think you gave it to me and I don't want to give it away. Just tell me, "I'll est Francais, n'est pas"?On 2002-05-28 14:15, markydefad wrote:

Yep, Nicky--you're RED HOT!!!!!!!!!!!
You've BEEN THERE, DONE THAT.
Now that's a clue to the Producer....what was the song and the artist?
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Well, it would certainly be fitting if it was Dennis Parker, since he was better known as porn star deluxe Wade Nichols. His big track was "Like An Eagle".On 2002-05-28 14:59, markydefad wrote:

But that song isn't all that well-known, so I'd have to go with some number by the Village People... "San Francisco" or "Macho Man" would be quite well suited...
OK, you're on the right producer track...but maybe I overstated with the "well-known". WE know this track, the group is well known... and it's NOT by anyone that's been mentioned yet. But you're warm...
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Ritchie Family? "Quiet Village?" I'm playing again because your last response let me know I had the wrong 'homme Francais' in mind.

Gads, don't tell me it's something by The Ritchie Family! (mentally digs through their nine or so albums)
I'd offer up Eartha Kitt's "Where Is My Man", but that was 83 - 84, so it's probably something earlier than that. Lessee...
Patrick Juvet - "I Love America"?
The Ritchie Family - "Bad Reputation"?
Phylicia Allen - "J'ai Deux Amours/Two Loves Have I"?

OK, the artist has been named. Now the song title. Come on....
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I sooo bad want to say "African Queens"

No, the song has no sexual commentary on the action--just a danceable song playing in the bar as Al goes into the men's room and gets it on with a guy. I was just surprised to hear this song. After the song ends I think another track from the LP plays. And then later, the "hit" song replays again.
I thought Mr. Jeff would be checking in here, cause I'm SURE he knows the answer...but you guys are doing very well without his help.
Come on............(this IS a Clue, BTW)
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Sorry to arrive at this party so late, everyone...
Marky's correct in assuming that I do know the answer, being such a big fan of both Al's parker AND Casablanca titles.
But to assume that I'm the only one here who knows this record? Give me a break!
