    Rachel Stevens' "Some Girls"

    Well?

    I'm sold. Goldfrapp-lite, but I'm sold.

And if you can snag it anywhere, check out Annie's "Chewing Gum". Think Roman Polanski directs a Swedish version of Vanity doing kiddie pop.

Richard X is a god, but Rachel is the luckiest little lass in pop to snag "Some Girls" - especially after being gifted with "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex"

    anyone in agreement?

Apparently she's doing a cover of Andrea True Connection's 'More More More' for her next single. Oh god i can hardly wait.... :x ........she makes Sophie Ellis Bexter look exciting & talented. (Sandy gets bitchy)

    Who is she?

She was spawned from, gulp, S Club 7.

Brilliant? Hardly. Worthwhile? A couple of singles don't make a creeer, they make a cult star at best. But she might have some more going on upstairs than Jessica or Britney, and if she has had any hand in picking her material, she might continue to surprise.

I didn't realise you were aware of S Club 7 in the US; that's why I didn't mention them. I certainly wouldn't make a habit of mentioning them anyway!

LAX was a very good pop record. Far better than anything Victoria Beckham ever made as a solo act. Rachel Stevens was voted sexiest woman (maybe third sexiest can't remember) recently. She's currently getting a few more TV appearances over here as a celeb type, so maybe her career will be taking an even greater upward turn.

For what they were and the market they were aimed at, S Club 7 made some very good records IMO. Some of them were even starting to act half decently too, in their TV series and specials.

It's marvellous, what having a daughter of a certain age did, for a fella like me.

    S Club 7 ???

Rachel better than Victoria Beckham? Not difficult? Almost everything is better than Victoria Beckham!

Charts are dominated by kids nowadays and it seems that recordcompanies only release earcandy for those youngsters.

When will (sorry) real artists get a fair chance? In Europe every band that has some creativity and credibility is dumped by the firms coz' they don't sell millions of their first album.

But when you bring out a record that involves stolen loops and is brought by boys and girls that were manufactured in the same factory where Barbie and Ken are made, the part of the public that's under 12 years old rushes to the shop.

And, damn, let him keep his hands of Andrea True! She's mine!

I have enough discoclassics so I don't need fake remakes, thank you.

Andrea True was a bonafide porn star with an interesting past & the wonderful Gregg Diamond behind her (so to speak!); Rachel Stevens is an ex stage school brat with no personality & naff Simon Cowell-types behind her. Need I say more?

Is it my impression or most of the kids today have a bad musical taste?I remember when i was a kid i was always eager to hear new stuff, and wasn´t interested in hearing run of the mill stuff and "teenagers" type music like New Kids on The Block. Now kids only want to hear what MTV throws them, and they don´t make any effort to search for new and old quality music. There´s exceptions to this rule of course...
