This Web site contains all (or almost all) discography of the king of euro-disco Alec R. Costantinos. It includes an album called "Bad News Travels Fast"...I never saw it :o .

Actually there were 2 Bad News Travels Fast LP's.

"Look Out" (1979) and "Ordinary Man" (1979) - both on Casablanca.

A site I've seen with a rather good discussion of Costandinos' career has an image of the Love & Kisses Greatest Hits album. There, in large letters on the front cover is the name "Alec Constandinos". Was this just a gross misspelling?

Yes, that misspelling has appeared o few times even on CD. It is seen on the Bad News Travels Fast record.

I'm a great fan of Costandinos and I know the two albums "Hunchback of the Notre-Dame" and "Trocadero bleue citron" but I never heard 'm :oops:

Are they in the same league as his other work? Are they worth looking for?

And the Cerrone album with "Uncensored cover" :D

OMG-did they object to the naked woman on it? The cover with the four hands wasn't even released here! :lol:

"Hunchback..." holds true to his concept format. "Trocadero" is a movie soundtrack.

Remember all those Puritans that ran to these shores to escape persecution? Well, they're here and so are the values. America wouldn't dare release an album jacket with a naked woman. Christ, a split-second glimpse of a woman's breast at a football game and the our nation's government was ready to crumble. :roll:

Hunchback is widely regarded as one of his weaker efforts. IMO, it does have its moments, but they're all too brief. The music is often interrupted by the dialogue, yet the dialogue doesn't really explain the story, so I still don't see why so much of it was included.

As for Trocadero Lemon Blue/Citron Bleu, it is definitely worth seeking out. The side-long instrumental "Trocadero Suite" is my all-time favourite piece of Alec's. The other pieces vary. Note that the USA has a different version of the title track, with a different mix and English vocals as opposed to the French version released in Canada and elsewhere.

My copy of Trocadéro Bleu Citron/Trocadero Lemon Blue is also sung in English and edited on a blue vinyl.

It was very difficult to buy Costandinos' albums where I lived.
As soon as they were in the racks they were gone. I could never get "Romeo and Juliet" but I did manage to buy "Love and Kisses" Accidental Lover album and that was tough to get. My parents thoght the girl in the ripped Tee shirt was outrageous and pornographic.

Shake is the one who does the French version of Trocadero Lemon Blue / Trocadero Blue Citron. I like both versions :)

I don't know if anyone knows this, but now that we're talking about Alec's stuff I would like to tell you that I discovered last week the french version of "Eloise" sung by Claude Francois. Does anyone have info about it?
