    d-train song

    Hi

I'm looking for a version of "you're the one for me" with d-train where it starts with a acapella. Is this the 12" version?Does anybody know where I can buy it?maybe it is on a compilation somewhere as an example?
    Thanks

I think the version you're looking for is actually the 1982 LP only one. You're not the only one calling it an acapella intro though...even though it's actually James singing with some piano back up.

All other versions I know of this track starts with drum intros.

    Hi babyluv,

I was thoroughly chastised  for claiming the lp version had an acapella/talking intro. In any case, I think K-Bee is right that this is the one you're looking for.

K-Bee: I thought the 12" versions had guitar and/or synthesizer intros? Don't know about all of them but I know the instrumental and dub versions do. And rather than make a fool of myself again I'm going to pull the 12" and then play Aah-nold! :)

    I'm baaack: :D

The Paul Hardcastel 12" mix and the Francois K. 12" mix (vocal) have drumming or handclap/drumming intros.

The Francois K. 12" instrumental and the Reprise (a/k/a dub) have those synth stabs and handclaps before the drums kick in.

The lp is the only version with D-Train in the beginning.

Wasn't there another version with synth/handclap intro on the original LP with lots of delay effects used too?
I recall hearing that on the album but I never bought it myself so my memory may be playing tricks on me :-?

    You're the nun for me

I'm sure (but can't lay my hands on the vinyl right now) that there was a Shep Pettibone remix of YTOFM on the first Prelude/Kiss FM Mastermix lp.
Could be the alternate mix your'e after?

That mix starts off with some fast clapping then goes into the claps + accords = no singing..

It's the Extended Album Version (5:09) with the accapella intro.
