I know this means squat in the overall debate, but as a means of making a small personal statement, yesterday I went to Best Buy and bought a copy of The Best of Linda Ronstadt.
I'm sure that some knee-jerk yahoos have called for boycotts of Linda's concerts and CDs :evil: so I just wanted it to be on record in some sales figures somewhere that someone made a choice to support her by buying one of her CDs.
Writing this post reminded me of an incident back in 1978: I was record shopping with a friend from college, another gay guy who was maybe two years older than me. I was prepared to buy Ronstadt's Back in the USA LP, and he said, "No, no... buy this Linda," and handed me a copy of Linda Clifford's If My Friends Could See Me Now LP, one of the very first disco LPs I ever purchased. :D
Oh, and that gay friend who turned me on to Miz Clifford? He's now a priest. :lol: :lol: :lol:
