Cerrone recycles his material a lot even these days. Give Me Love got realesed in various forms during the late 70's - the 3 excellent Brigade Mondaine/Vice Squad albums - Brigade Mondaine, Secte de Marrakech & Vaudou aux Caraibes - contain several reworkings of hits such as Cerrone's Paradise and Give Me Love. These come in slightly altered forms and as such are ideal dj tools, too.

I get confused everytime this "Brigade Mondaine" is mentioned. Exactly who or what is it and why can't I find these albums on Amazon?

these were soundtracks of french films for which cerrone supplied the music in the late '70s. these lps may have only been released in france, and i'm nearly positive they weren't released in the us. i don't think they've ever been issued on cd anywhere.

Riding on the wave of French soft-porn flicks as "Emanuelle" and "Histoire d'O" the Brigade Mondaine-series were released as a part of the exploitation-movies that were highly succesfull in the 70's. Three were made. The first one handles S&M-practics in high-class surroundings. The second one treats the subject of kidnapping and trading women and the third one is in the same league but with a voodoo-sauce.

The plots were awful and only consisted in showing nudity.
But, the movies were succesful in our country just because of that nudity since x-rated films were forbidden here till the early 90's.

The music was made entirely by Cerrone and consisted in real soundscape-themes and some of his hits like "Give me love" and "Look for love". Samples of the soundtrack can be also be found on the album "Cerrone by Bob Sinclar".

The albums are good but don't expect complete disco-dance-albums coz' then you will be disappointed.

And in Europe they are available on cd. You can always mail to malligator-records to ask for more details. They always reply.

I'm really shocked about that; I always thought that continental Europe was so much more liberal about things than the UK. :o Sorry to digress, back to Cerrone.........
